Noah Hanifin Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Flames' blue liner has seven points over last six contests
Mark Giordano is the top play on defense by a considerable margin tonight, but if looking to differentiate, Noah Hanifin is a worthy option to save salary. Hanifin has been racking up the assists lately and should have a good chance to pile them on again tonight against a Colorado team that has played awful hockey over the past month. Moreover, Colorado is on the tail end of a back to back after getting smoked by the Jets for seven goals last night. Hanifin is under $5,000 on DraftKings and FanDuel which makes him a viable option in all formats.
Hanifin to step in
With Mark Giordano out two games for the Calgary Flames this easily opens the door for Noah Hanifin who will slide in on the team’s top power play unit with the top line. The Flames power play has scored 12 goals in the last 10 games which should benefit Hanifin here as he has grabbed three goals to go along with 10 assists so far this season. He has managed to get four of those points while skating on the team’s second power play unit so seeing an uptick in that department is quite feasible considering he will be skating with the team’s top players. You could pay up for Morgan Rielly, John Carlson, Brent Burns and a host of others but sneaking Hanifin in your line-up will free up some much needed salary on a night that has 15 other teams in action this evening.
Calgary blue liner looks to stay hot
Noah Hanifin has been recommended many times this season, and while he was exceptionally disappointing in October, the ex-Hurricane has come alive in November with nine points in 12 games. Last time out, Hanifin did not find the scoresheet, but he tied his season-high with five shots on goal. In the game prior to that, Hanifin potted two goals in Arizona. Hanifin's price is still affordable across the industry (DraftKings - $3,700 & FanDuel - $4,000). On a short slate with superstar forwards worth paying up for, Hanifin is a viable route to save some salary from the blue line.
Cheap Calgary defenseman worth your consideration
The price on Noah Hanifin has come up from the silly $3,000 price tag we saw on DraftKings against Pittsburgh, when Noah had five shots on goal, but he is still a solid option on a short slate. Hanifin has just two points on the season as he continues to adapt to his new team. Last season, Hanifin had 32 points in 79 games and played particularly well against the Toronto Maple Leafs as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes as he tallied a goal and an assist with 14 shots on goal in three games. Given the lack of options from the blue line tonight, Hanifin is a solid option in all formats.
Calgary defenseman costs next to nothing
Noah Hanifin tallied 32 points last season for a deep Carolina defense, and while he has yet to do much in Calgary, his price has plummeted to $3,000 on DraftKings -- a price point that really opens up roster construction. As potent as Pittsburgh's offense is, their defense lacks commitment and focus. Hanifin is a talented defenseman that could shine against a Pittsburgh team that sports the National Hockey League's worst xGA/60 (2.97) at 5v5. If you are looking for a punt, take a chance with the fifth overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
Multi-Point Potential on the Blue Line
The New York Islanders are not only atrocious defensively (ranking 30th overall in CA/60, and 31st in HDCA/60 and SCA/60), they have also struggled big time when short-handed, toting the leagues 30th ranked penalty kill, which certainly opens the door for both of the Carolina Hurricanes defenseman. Justin Faulk is the more talented player, but Noah Hanifin is the top point-per-dollar play on defense, and you really cant go wrong with either one in cash games. If you are stacking the Hurricanes in GPPs, Faulk plays with the top line, while Hanifin skates on the second unit.
Cheap Carolina defenseman a worthwhile punt at a crowded position
Dipping down this low to defense tonight seems unnecessary, but if strapped for cash, Noah Hanifin (FanDuel - $3,800, DraftKings - $3,900) emerges as a worthwhile punt option. Noah is blossoming into a fine young blueliner and is just three points away from matching his total from last season, all in 26 fewer games. Hanifin and the Hurricanes, as usual, are affordable, and picking out the right guy can be frustrating at times, but Noah has flashed his upside throughout the season. He is a bit too unpredictable for cash games, but is a worthy punt in tournaments if starved for salary. The Colorado Avalanche have been getting outplayed far more often than not recently, and Carolina is one of the best teams at driving play, especially on home ice in Raleigh.
Upside on the Blue Line
The Carolina Hurricanes should dominate this weak Vancouver Canucks team playing on consecutive nights, putting both the moderately priced Justin Faulk and inexpensive Noah Hanifin in play tonight for either cash games or tournament play. The Canucks are a below average defensive team (ranking 22nd overall in HDCA/60 and 28th overall in SCA/60) and they can definitely be exploited on the road. On top of that, Vancouver has also struggled while short-handed this year, ranking 26th overall on the penalty kill and 28th overall on the road. Defense is not a loaded position tonight, so I will be looking to the Hurricanes defense options more often than not when building my lineups this evening.
Sophomore defenseman powering surging Hurricanes
Noah Hanifin has been dynamite over his last five games, potting two goals and two assists while firing 22 shots on goal as Carolina is finally stringing some wins together. While Noah's ice time tops out around 20 minutes, he continues to make the most of his ice time. Like his teammates, Noah checks in at a superb source of salary relief tonight as he is just $3,900 on FanDuel and $3,800 on DraftKings. While Noah is best left for tournaments, his punt pricing makes a lot of sense in cash games too with so many stud forwards available. Look for Hanifin to build off his three-point night in Nashville and pick up at least a point against a road-weary Sabre squad.
Great Value On The Blue Line
The Florida Panthers are a below average defensive team (24th in CA/60 and 20th in HDCA/60), with a weak penalty kill (28th ranked PK), and not only are they playing on consecutive nights, they will be starting back-up goalie James Reimer, putting Noah Hanifin in a prime sport this evening. Hanifin is averaging over 18 minutes of ice time per game, including time on the Hurricanes second power play unit, making him a nice value play on defense tonight in any format.
