Ondrej Palat Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

This center is having an under-the-radar, but stellar, season

Obviously all of the attention this season is on Nikita Kucherov completely dominating the Art Ross race. The second biggest story on the Lightning is the continual breakout of Brayden Point. And then we have Steven Stamkos who is still having an elite season with 35 goals and 81 points in 72 games. He's been incredible and nobody is talking about it because of the rest of the team's success. His linemates are considerably cheaper than Kucherov's which makes this line stack with J.T. Miller and Ondrej Palat an interesting pivot in tournaments.

Cheap top liner viable in all formats in dream matchup

Ondrej Palat has not been in the scoresheet much, but the matchup does not get any better than against the Ottawa Senators on the road. Palat still sees time on Tampa Bay's tremendous top power play unit. Additionally, Palat skates with Steven Stamkos at even-strength. If there were ever a time for Palat to pick up a point or two, it would be tonight. Ondrej checks in at just $3,900 on DraftKings and provides the necessary salary relief to grab a stud or two. Tampa Bay can name the score tonight. Whether or not they are motivated to pour it on is up to them. Look for Palat to be more involved than usual.

Top line forward eyes big night in Big Apple

Ondrej Palat has not been particularly productive given his role on the top line and top power play for the National Hockey League's best team, but it is a good time to buy low on Palat who checks in at just $4,100 on DraftKings. Ondrej is a nice source of salary relief to gain exposure to Tampa Bay's top line and lethal number one power play unit. Palat serves more as a decoy on the top unit, but Tampa Bay should be good for a handful of goals against a rebuilding Rangers' squad. Palat is viable in all formats.

Lightning looking for a jolt of energy

Tampa Bay has dropped two consecutive games, including a shutout last time out at home against the Blues. That marks the fifth consecutive game the Lightning have failed to score more than three goals, and altogether, outside of their six goal eruption agianst the Sharks, the Lightning have scored the following goal totals: 1, 2, 2, 2, 0, 3, 2, 0. Jon Cooper has decided to move Palat and Stamkos with Kucherov, immediately sending Palat's value surging as he will play with two studs at even-strength and on the power play. He is viable in all formats.

Cheap top line winger draws decent matchup

John Gibson can be a wall, but the wall was taken down last game against a timid Coyotes' offense that poured on five goals against Gibson. Gibson's task tonight is the worst matchup in the league - a Tampa Bay offense which continues to score goals for fun. Palat has not been a big part of it, but skating on the top line and top power play with Steven Stamos boosts his value. Tampa Bay's second line is their best line of course, but Tampa Bay is so deep that all the lines are in play. Palat makes for a low-owned play on this massive New Year's Eve slate.

This superstar is starting to heat up.

While focus for the Tampa Bay Lightning has been how hot their other line has been, Steven Stamkos has been starting to pick up steam — especially in the goal-scoring department. He has 8 goals in his last 7 games to go along with 4 assists. He's been playing alongside Ondrej Palat and Yanni Gourde as of late, but the other two haven't had quite the same success. Five power play goals and six total power play points over those seven games are a large factor in the uptick in offence. Stamkos makes for a great one-off play, but given that the Lightning have averaged 4.7 goals per game over their last 10, they should be able to score plenty tonight.

Only Connor McDavid is faster than this Lightning center

Priced accordingly on FanDuel at $6,500, Brayden Point is flying under the radar on DraftKings, where he is a flabbergasting $5,200. The speedy center torched the Florida Panthers last season, tallying four goals and four assists in just four games. As a feature on the team’s loaded top power play unit with Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, J.T. Miller and Victor Hedman, Brayden Point should thrive against a Florida team which really drops in quality after their loaded top-six. Point is an excellent play on DraftKings in all formats and can be utilized in stacks on both sites given his cheap linemates Ondrej Palat and the ever-dangerous Yanni Gourde.

Triplet returns to top line alongside Nikita Kucherov

Ondrej Palat has struggled staying healthy this season and he has averaged two minutes less per game than he logged last season, but he is back on the top line with a familiar face in Nikita Kucherov. Palat has just 33 points in 54 games this season, but he has a fantastic opportunity to add to that total tonight against a Sabres team which gives up goals for fun. Palat had no problem picking apart Buffalo last season, posting two goals and a helper with 12 shots on goal in four meetings. Palat is a gritty forward who can do it all, and given the Sabres' struggles in their own end, it would not be surprising for Palat to have a multi-point game as he thrives on turnovers. Palat is affordable across the industry and makes for a nice pairing/stack with Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point.

Pivot From The Masses With This Line

If you're looking to differentiate your lineup without completely fading the Lightning in a great spot tonight, consider taking the second line of Tampa Bay which features Point, Palat, and Tyler Johnson. With a combined 26 points over their last 10 games, this trio draws a juicy matchup against an overrated Calgary Flames team that has allowed the most venue adjusted shot attempts and the second most scoring chances on tonight's slate. Also seeing time on the league's third ranked power play, this line should have no problems paying off their manageable salaries in a game Tampa Bay should dominate from start to finish.

Don't Overlook This Second Line

If you're looking to differentiate your lineup without completely fading the Lightning in a great spot tonight, consider taking the second line of Tampa Bay which features Point, Palat, and Tyler Johnson. With a combined 26 points over their last 10 games, this trio draws a juicy matchup against the league's worst team in Arizona, who have allowed the second most shot attempts and own the second worst adjusted xGA/60 on tonight's slate. Also seeing time on the league's top ranked power play, this line should have no problems paying off their reasonable salaries in a game Tampa Bay should dominate from start to finish.
