P.J. Hairston Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Tony Allen (hamstring) ruled out against the Warriors
Tony Allen will not be playing on Saturday due to a sore hamstring. An official replacement has not been named at this time but the early projections in our starting lineups page shows Lance Stephenson. We should have an update soon on the starters for the Grizzlies.
Zach Randolph and Vince Carter game-time decisions for Saturday; P.J. Hairston out 7-10 days
Zach Randolph has missed the last seven games due to a sore knee but is a game-time decision against the Clippers. Vince Carter has missed four games with a strained calf and will also be a game-time decision. If Randolph returns to the lineup, JaMychal Green would see his production decline. We should have an update on their status tomorrow. P.J. Hairston continues to be out with a strained groin.
Lance Stephenson and Vince Carter are questionable for Wednesday; Zach Randolph and P.J. Hairston ruled out
Lance Stephenson (wrist) and Vince Carter (calf) remain questionable for their contest with the Timberwolves. Both players did not play on Monday. If both players miss the game, Matt Barnes and Tony Allen could see over 30 minutes. Allen and Barnes should only be considered tournament option as both have a tendency to bust every couple games. Zach Randolph is out with a sore knee and P.J. Hairston is out with a groin injury.
Tony Allen (knee) officially ruled out for Friday
Tony Allen will miss his seventh consecutive game with a knee injury and P.J. Hairston will continue to start in his place. Hairston is an extreme boom-or-bust option and should be left off your rosters against the Jazz. Tony Allen has no timetable for his return.
Brandan Wright and P.J. Hairston remain in the starting lineup
Brandan Wright and P.J. Hairston will remain in the starting lineup for the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies lineup came out just before lineup lock, and there was still no word on Tony Allen. Hairston will continue to start in the place of Allen. Hairston has averaged 25 FD points per game over his last two games. He makes for a nice GPP punt play. Hairston is just $3,600 on FD and $3,300 on DK. Wright got the start last night and finished with 18 FD points in 18 minutes. He makes a nice punt play at just $3,700 on FD and $3,800 on DK. He is listed as a PF on DK.
Tony Allen (knee) ruled out on Friday
Tony Allen will miss another game due to a sore knee and P.J. Hairston will likely start in his place. Hairston was able to light up the Lakers in their previous matchup for 26.5 FPs on DK. Hairston will likely see around 20 minutes tonight and should be able to put up nearly a fantasy point per minute.
P.J. Hairston will start for Tony Allen
With Tony Allen out with an injury, P.J. Hairston will start in his place against the Raptors. Just like he was in Charlotte, Hairston isn’t a DFS option. Mario Chalmers, Vince Carter, and Lance Stephenson will also see some more minutes with Allen out. I wouldn’t mess with this situation on a ten game slate.
Chris Andersen and P.J. Hairston to make Grizzlies debut tonight, Lance Stephenson out
Chris Andersen and P.J. Hairston will be making their Grizzlies debut tonight against the Timberwolves. Both players are expected to play as much as they are able to. While we don't have concrete minutes set, the team is in flux with so many new players available. Both players are better left off rosters until the rotation is more stable. Lance Stephenson will be missing tonight's game.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist likely out for the season with a shoulder injury
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has been diagnosed with a torn labrum which will likely require surgery. This is the same shoulder he injured in October, which caused him to miss the first 46 games of the season. P.J. Hairston will likely start again in his place but has played this season as a low-end DFS option. Expect Nicolas Batum to really pick up his play after the All-Star break, he's averaged 46.37 FPs in his last four games.
Jazz-Hornets starters announced
The starters for the Hornets-Jazz game have been announced. The Hornets will start P.J. Hairston, Marvin Williams, Cody Zeller, Nic Batum, and Kemba Walker. The Jazz will start Gordon Hayward, Trey Lyles, Rudy Gobert, Rodney Hood, and Raul Neto. Gobert and Hood are decent options for the Jazz but avoid the Hornets as Gobert's presence make the Jazz one of the top defenses (and slowest paced teams as well) in the league. They are top seven in DvP at all five positions.
