Patrick Kane Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
This winger will be missed in the playoffs.
It is back-to-back seasons in which the Chicago Blackhawks have missed the playoffs and missing out on playoff versions of Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews is unfortunate. They'll be playing together tonight on the top line with Drake Caggiula who makes for a very cheap third-wheel. Now, the matchup is tough against the Dallas Stars who are a fantastic defensive team and their goaltending has been great. Kane and Toews make for a great mini-stack as well, of course, but having a cheap winger helps make the full-line stack affordable. Over the last month, the Blackhawks have a 60.79 CF/60 which is the sixth-best in the NHL which helps mitigate the difficult matchup.
This sophomore has a sneaky-good matchup tonight
Alex DeBrincat and the Chicago Blackhawks host a Winnipeg Jets team that has struggled a bit from a possession standpoint as of late. They've given up a 60.72 CA/60 which is the sixth-most over the last month while their 43.87 CF% ranks 29th. The Blackhawks have put forth plenty of opportunities as their 61.19 CF/60 is the sixth-best over the last month. DeBrincat is slated to skate with Patrick Kane and Artem Anisimov in a newly formed line that could prove to be dominant against a Winnipeg Jets team with plenty of depth.
This second-year player blew through any sort of "softmore slump".
Alex DeBrincat was a standout rookie last year posting a 28-goal, 52-point rookie campaign. He followed that up this year with an absolutely dominant 38-goal, 71-point sophomore season — and counting. He is now sitting atop the the Chicago Blackhawks depth chart on the first line with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews. This is a team that over the last month has a 62.54 CF/60 which is the 6th-best in the NHL. They visit the Arizona Coyotes, a team on the opposite end as they've allowed a 60.34 CA/60 over the same time period which ranks as the 9th-worst.
This winger is still the hottest player in 2019
Despite the recent surge of Nikita Kucherov, Patrick Kane remains the hottest player in 2019. He has put up an impressive 14 goals and 40 points in 19 games in 2019 and is showing no signs of slowing down. It has been mostly the Kane show, though, as linemates Jonathan Toews (26 pts in 19 games) and Drake Caggiula (6 points in 17 games) don't come close to matching Kane. Now, in fairness to Caggiula, he hasn't been on this line the entire time, and he does have a modest 5 points in his last 9 games, so that is okay. Anyway, Kane and Toews make the most sense as a mini-stack as they play on the same power play unit as well.
This has been the hottest player in 2019
Patrick Kane has 37 points in 18 games in 2019 and is showing no signs of slowing down. His line with Jonathan Toews and Drake Caggiula has been great at even strength, though 12 of those 37 points have come with the man advantage. A home game vs. the Ottawa Senators is a premium matchup for Kane and the Blackhawks.
In 2019, this has been the best offensive player.
No player has been better than Patrick Kane since 2018 ended. In his 16 games in 2019, Kane has an unbelievable 11 goals and 32 points in just 16 games. Averaging two points per game over a stretch of 20 percent of the season is a long time and very impressive. When you consider how poorly the Chicago Blackhawks had been playing this season, Kane hasn't missed a beat. Although they have played a bit better as of late, they are still just 8-5-3 in 2019 which is good for 19 points. Blackhawks host the New Jersey Devils tonight Cory Schneider continues to look for a win. He has struggled once again this season with a 4.12 goals against average and a .868 save percentage — both of which are horrific.
Kane Continues to Shine
It doesn’t matter how you slice it Patrick Kane is a straight up stud. He has been for years actually as he has become one of the most reliable players in the game in terms of scoring. It’s unfortunate that he was able to complete the hat trick the other night as now others may see him as hot and play him tonight as well. The fact is that it doesn’t matter as he has grabbed seven goals and 11 assists in the last 14 games which now has him sitting at 20 goals and 27 assists for the season. The Colorado penalty kill has given up eight goals over the last nine games which is the most in the league so maybe Chicago can get on the horse and jump start their top power play unit this evening. Regardless, Kane makes for a decent play on any night of the week.
This top line has a premium matchup against a third-string goaltender.
The Chicago Blackhawks have re-jigged their lines over the last game or two, and the new top line on Chicago is in a fantastic spot. Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews and Nick Schmaltz are going to be facing the Los Angeles Kings and Peter Budaj — the Kings third-string goaltender. The Kings lost both Jonathan Quick and Jack Campbell to injury, so they are in a tough spot. Patrick Kane has 12 goals and 23 points in 18 games along with 77 shots on goal. The trio is also on the top power play unit together giving them full-game correlation and furthering their elite upside.
This player leads the Chicago Blackhawks in goals, points and shots.
As usual, Patrick Kane leads the Chicago Blackhawks in goals (12), points (21) and shots (71). After Joel Quenneville was fired, new head coach Jeremy Colliton didn't hesitate to switch up the second line by putting Kane with Nick Schmaltz and Artem Anisimov. However, this morning Jonthan Toews was centering Kane and Schmaltz which gives this line stack even more upside. The trio are an elite stack as they all play on the same power play unit (Kane, Toews, Schmaltz) and have full-game correlation.
Shuffled Lines Could Breed Opportunities
Joel Quenneville is out as head coach of the Blackhawks, and Jeremy Colliton wasted no time in shuffling the lines for the Hawks. The second line for Chicago (really line 1b) now consists of Artem Anisimov, Nick Schmaltz, and Patrick Kane. This trio has had success in the past, so it makes sense to reunite them in an effort to spark the team. Schmaltz has seen his ice time dip lately, with 14 minutes or less in three of his last four, but I expect him to return to a heavy workload under the new regime. As for the power play, Schmaltz joins Toews, Kane, Seabrook, and Debrincat to form a threatening first unit.
