Paul Pierce Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Paul Pierce will be in the starting lineup today for his final game in Boston
Pierce will be inserted into the Clippers starting lineup for today's game against the Boston Celtics, which is expected to be Pierce's final game of his career at the TD Garden in Boston. It's difficult to accurately project how much playing time Pierce will actually accumulate, but it likely won't be much. Pierce will likely replace Raymond Felton in the starting unit, but Felton's "demotion" to the bench does not decimate his fantasy value in any way, as he should still see his normal compliment of minutes off the bench. This lineup change is just ceremonial, classy move by Clippers head coach Doc Rivers and doesn't need to be analyzed from a daily fantasy perspective considering it should not change much about the Clippers' rotation this afternoon.
Raymond Felton replaces Paul Pierce in starting lineup
Paul will not play in tonight's game against the Phoenix Suns after previously being listed as doubtful on the Clippers injury report with a strained left hamstring that has now forced him to miss six of the Clippers' last seven games. Clippers' head coach Doc Rivers has rotated replacement starting point guards in Paul's absence, but Austins Rivers will draw the start once again. Rivers has played relatively well filling in for Paul, and he has seen at least 32 minutes of playing time in three of the last four games. The one exception was due to an early ejection. Raymond Felton will also replace Paul Piece in the starting lineup and makes for an intriguing option on the late slates. According to our CourtIQ tool, Rivers leads the Clippers with a 4.2% usage rate differential (24.3%) with Paul and Blake Griffin off the court this season. So, needless to say, he makes for a fine value point guard option on tonight's slate in an ideal pace-up matchup against the Suns' horrendous back court defense.
Jamal Crawford starting for J.J. Redick (hamstring) tonight; Austin Rivers and Wesley Johnson replace Raymond Felton and Paul Pierce in starting lineup
Crawford will draw the start at shooting guard in place of the injured J.J. Redick for tonight's game against the Denver Nuggets. In a somewhat surprising move, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers has also decided to replace Raymond Felton with Austin Rivers in the starting lineup at point guard. Felton had played extremely well and averaged a whopping 35.5 minutes in his previous two starts. Perhaps the second night of a back-to-back was enough for Doc to go with the younger Rivers and Wesley Johnson over the grizzled vets in Felton and Pierce. Both Rivers and Crawford draw exploitable matchups with the Nuggets' back court, making them elite plays on the late slates this evening. as they can be expected to handle more of the offensive load once again in Paul's absence.
Paul Pierce confirming in starting lineup tonight
Pierce will start for the injured Blake Griffin in tonight's game against the Denver Nuggets. In the only game he started this season, he played about 29 minutes. He scored 10.8 DraftKings points and is an extremely risky option. Chris Paul sees a 2.9% increase in usage with Blake Griffin off the floor and should be considered the elite option regardless of format. He does carry some risk due to the blowout but has proven he has an immense ceiling with three games over 65 fantasy points. In his recent 20 points and 20 assists game, Paul played slightly under 30 minutes, easing some of the concern. Blake Griffin has only missed two games this season and DeAndre Jordan has shown that he is a major contributor. Jordan scored 53.3 DK fpts in a double-overtime loss to the Nets and has averaged 42.27 DK fps in his last four games.

Paul Pierce (ankle) active tonight
Pierce was previously doubtful for tonight's game against the Grizzles, but is apparently ready to go and will be active. Though Pierce is "active" it's highly unlikely he finds his way into the 10-man rotation Doc Rivers has been deploying thus far this season right away. It's safe to avoid Pierce and all the Clippers (outside of maybe Blake Griffin) in this pace down matchup on the road at Memphis.
Clippers starting lineup: Rivers, Redick, Mbah a Moute, Green, and Jordan
Green will replace Pierce and Mbah a Moute will replace Jamal Crawford. Mbah a Moute is still not a viable DFS option and is in for defensive purposes. Green should see a significant bump in value and is considered a strong option in all league formats. Green had 33.5 fpts in Game 5 and is expected to play 32+ minutes on Friday. Crawford played 44 minutes on Wednesday and should see significant time on the court again tonight. Crawford is also a strong option and should be heavily owned.
Clippers to change their starting lineup; will update
No official word has been given at this time but we are expecting Paul Pierce to be replaced by Jeff Green. Pierce only played 10 minutes in Game 5 and Jeff Green was originally listed as the probable starter for that game. We will continue to monitor this situation and pass along any information that comes out.
Clippers starters: Rivers, Prigioni, Mbah a Moute, Pierce, and Aldrich
Clippers will only have Luc Mbah a Moute is their regular starter against the Suns on Wednesday. Rivers should be considered an elite punt option and could see over 30 minutes. Cole Aldrich is also an elite option and should be heavily owned in the late slate. Alex Len makes for an interesting pivot in this game.
Paul Pierce is the only Clipper that won’t play on Sunday
Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin, and J.J. Redick will all start Sunday against the Mavericks after resting on Friday night. Paul Pierce is the only Clipper that won’t play on Sunday. The Clippers players are only in play for tournaments today. The Clippers already have the 4th spot locked up in the West, so they don’t have much to play for.
