Cold snap offers buy-low opportunity on top line center

Columbus' top line has not put up some of the gaudy games we saw from them earlier in the season, but tonight is a good night to take a shot. Dubois' price ($4,300) on DraftKings really stands out in a plus matchup against an Edmonton team which has allowed 21 goals over their last four games. Dubois has been productive after the All-Star break overall, even with the arrival of Matt Duchene, as he has 26 points (10G, 16A) in 33 games while logging over 17 minutes of ice time. However, Pierre has really been quiet this month, going pointless in 10 games. He is a fine tournament target alongside Artemi Panarin, whose price has come down having not scored a goal yet this month.

This winger will need to be elite for his team to make the playoffs

Cam Atkinson has become one of the more underrated goal-scorers in the NHL. He's played primarily on the opposite side of Artemi Panarin with Pierre-Luc Duboic down the middle. The Columbus Blue Jackets are making their push for a Wild Card position and this line is going to be elite over the next few weeks to get in. They're taking on the New York Islanders, a team that has been one of the more elite teams for the most part this season with their goaltending saving them this season. However, the last four weeks haven't been pretty as the Islanders have a 30th ranked 45.09 CF% and given up a 60.48 CA/60 which is the 7th-most over that period.

Line Possesses Slate-Breaking Upside

The Blue Jackets were surprise buyers at the trade deadline, adding Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel from the Senators. As of now, Duchene and Dzingel are expected to play together on the second line for tonight's matchup against the Flyers. DFS players love flocking to the fancy new toys, which could lead the #1 line of Pierre-Luc Dubois, Cam Atkinson, and Artemi Panarin to go overlooked. Atkinson and Panarin also see time on PP1, so they make a viable two-man stack without PLD. The Flyers have been hemorrhaging goals lately and were sellers at the deadline, indicating they might be waving the white flag on this season.

This upcoming UFA looks to be staying put

The Columbus Blue Jackets just went out and acquired Matt Duchene from the Ottawa Senators, so I think it is safe to say they are all-in this season. Thus, Artemi Panarin is in all likelihood staying put. Duchene is expected to play tonight (Columbus is in Ottawa, who would've thunk it?) for the Blue Jackets but that should not change this top line. Panarin has been playing with Pierre-Luc Dubois and Cam Atkinson on the Jackets top line and they've been great. They also all play on the top power play unit in their entirety which gives this line full-game correlation and elite upside against a Duchene-less Senators team — as well as Mark Stone and Ryan Dzingel both expected to sit again as they await to be traded.

This line will see plenty of high danger scoring chances

Artemi Panarin, Cam Atkinson, and Pierre-Luc Dubois will travel to Chicago to face the rejuvenated Blackhawks tonight. While Chicago has been hot and popular in DFS, I am looking at both teams in this one. Columbus may go under owned in a great spot. Despite the probability of facing Chicago’s top line, the Blue Jacket’s top line has multi goal upside. We know Chicago has not been stellar in defense/goaltending this year. In the past 30 days Chicago owns the highest HDCA/60 at 14.87. Expect Panarin and company to see convert on some of these chances. Adding Zach Werenski to the stack gives you a full power-play stack as well.

This upcoming UFA is heating up as we head towards the trade deadline.

With Artemi Panarin continuing to say he will be testing the UFA market this summer, it is coming more and more like a reality that Columbus is going to move him before the trade deadline. And, good for the Blue Jackets, he is heating up. Panarin has 9 goals and 20 points in his last 15 games as the top line for the Blue Jackets has been playing great. Panarin is playing with Pierre-Luc Dubois and Cam Atkinson and these three also play on the top power play unit together which gives this line elite upside. They are taking on the Washington Capitals who are on the tail-end of a back to back. Braden Holtby is expected to be in net for the Capitals and he's struggled this season with a 3.07 GAA and .906 SV%. Additionally, over their last month the Caps have allowed a disastrous 65.37 CA/60 which bodes well for the Columbus offence.

This winger has a solid matchup against a tired squad.

The Columbus Blue Jackets take on a Winnipeg Jets team that is playing their third game in four nights since the All-Star break. The Jets have struggled in January with possession with just a 46.93 CF% which ranks 25th and giving up a 61.08 CA/60 which is the sixth-worst. Cam Atkinson leads the team in goals with 28 — 9 more than Artemi Panarin who is in a distant second. Additionally, he smashes the shots on goal as well with 191 which is 61 more than Josh Anderson's second-highest. Atkinson plays with Artemi Panarin and Pierre-Luc Dubois on the top line which is a great line stack tonight.

This player was on a tear heading into the All-Star Break.

Heading into the All-Star Break, Artemi Panarin had 7 goals and 10 points in 9 games. Additionally, his linemates weren't far behind him with 6 points for Cam Atkinson and 7 points for Pierre-Luc Dubois. This trio plays on the top power play unit together which gives this line full-game correlation and elite upside. Additionally, the fast start of the Buffalo Sabres has really slowed down. They are 3-6-1 in their last 10 and heading into Columbus doesn't seem to be the best spot to turn things back around.

Top Line Looks to Stay Hot

The other night, the trio of Cam Atkinson, Pierre-Luc Dubois, and Artemi Panarin was extremely popular thanks to a juicy matchup against the visiting Devils. They didn't disappoint, all finishing the night with multi-point outings. Tonight, the matchup is tougher against a Canadiens team with a pair of hot goaltenders, but I think it should reduce ownership levels slightly. They'll get the "second change" at home, which should allow the top line to be put in the most favorable matchups throughout the night.

This winger is on pace for his best offensive season.

Although his goal totals are down a bit, soon-to-be unrestricted free agent Artemi Panarin is on pace for his highest point total of his career — 90. He leads the team in assists by 11 and points by 3, despite missing 2 games. The Columbus Blue Jackets host the Nashville Predators who are on the tail-end of a back-to-back after an OT win in Chicago last night. The Predators are likely tired and with Joonas Korpisalo in net for the Blue Jackets, this could be a high-scoring affair on both sides of the puck as Juuse Saros rounds out the battle of the backups matchup.
