First Line Offers Value
The Dallas Stars have mixed up their lines since the All-Star break and have rolled out a "first line" of Radek Faksa, Jamie Benn, and Blake Comeau. While Comeau leaves much to be desired, Faksa is a solid player and Benn has proven to be a borderline elite producer in the past. Benn also gets time on the number one power play unit with the likes of Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov. I prefer to forego Comeau and go with a partial stack of Benn and Faksa, which allows you to pair with another expensive line.
Center Gets Bumped to First Line
Although it's unlikely he'll play more minutes than true #1 center Tyler Seguin, currently Radek Faksa is listed as the center on the Stars first line with Jamie Benn and Blake Comeau. It's possible that the team will reunite the Benn-Seguin-Radulov line during the game, but even if that happens, Faksa will still see plenty of minutes. He's also guaranteed a spot on the #2 power play, which is a nice bonus for a player that's cheap across the industry.
Underrated second line center could be a difference maker
Center has a handful of options on this short Sunday slate, with Faksa's teammate Tyler Seguin being the premier option. Additionally, given how hot the current National Hockey League points leader is (Connor McDavid), he is sure to draw the interest of daily fantasy players as well. If looking for some salary relief and a tournament pivot or compliment to the aforementioned centers, take a look at Radek Faksa. Faksa has a modest 30 points (14 goals, 16 assists) in 72 games, but he has seen an increased role as of late with Jason Spezza on the shelf. Faksa will second the center line alongside Alexander Radulov as well as the team's top power play unit. The other night we saw the St. Louis Blues' second line pick apart the Vancouver Canucks, and we might see more of that this evening. No matter the outcome, Faksa is a viable source of salary relief across the industry as his ice time continues to climb.
