Rookie blue liner draws one of the best matchup for defensemen
Rasmus Dahlin ended his March woes by picking up a point last time out. It ended an eight game scoreless streak for the talented youngster. Dahlin is seeing north of 20 minutes of ice time as well as time on the top power play time. With Toronto back to back and really struggling defensively lately, the Sabres have a lot of upside tonight at reasonable price tags. Toronto in general bleeds points to defensemen which gives Dahlin a reasonable baseline in this plus matchup on home ice.
Buffalo blue liner coming into his own
Buffalo may be struggling after their hot start to the season, but Dahlin continues to grow. He has picked up a point in three consecutive games while taking three shots on goal in each of them. As one of the defensemen on Buffalo's top power play unit, Dahlin has a good chance to produce against a reeling Oilers' team that has one of the worst penalty kill units in the National Hockey League. His sub-$4,000 price tag on DraftKings and moderate tag on FanDuel ($4,500) is attractive on a slate not featuring Brent Burns or other must-have defensemen. Dahlin is a fine option in all formats.
Buffalo rookie saw 28 minutes of ice time in his last game
Dahlin's ice time is on the rise, and while he has gone pointless in six consecutive games, prior to that he had picked up a goal and eight assists over nine contests. Last time out, Rasmus registered eight shots on goal and logged over 10 minutes with the man-advantage, including time with a red-hot Jack Eichel on the top power play unit. Dahlin's price across the industry does not reflect his talent level, and it's another fine night to roll him out in tournaments as he clearly has the upside, perhaps even sooner than some had expected.
Buffalo blue liner continues to blossom
Just 18 years old, Rasmus Dahlin put together a fantastic November, collecting a goal and nine assists in 15 games as he continues to adjust to the National Hockey League. Dahlin was named November's rookie of the month and his ice time continues to climb as he has logged 20-plus minutes in seven consecutive contests. Oozing with talent, Dahlin is not yet the matchup proof defenseman he seems destined to be, and while a matchup with Pekka Rinne and the Predators in Nashville is not ideal, Dahlin is cheap enough to consider in tournaments as a low-owned option from the blue line.
