New Orleans is waiving Omri Casspi and signing Reggie Williams
Omri Casspi broke his thumb in his debut for Pelicans and has been subsequently waived. The Pelicans signed guard Reggie Williams to a 10-day contract. He is expected to be available for Saturday's game against the Mavs. Williams will likely be used as a reserve and does not have a ton of upside.
Reggie Williams will be available to make his Pelicans debut tonight
Williams was signed by the Pelicans earlier today and will be available to play in tonight's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. He most recently played for the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA Development League. It remains to be seen if Williams will actually see any playing time in his debut, but his presence on the active roster could eventually cut into the minutes of wing players like Solomon Hill, assuming he is able to carve out a role in the rotation, as the Pelicans are in desperate need of outside shooting.
