Rickard Rakell Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
This upcoming UFA is looking to finish the season strong
It is a two game slate, so that is why we have any consideration for the Anaheim Ducks. The "second" line is probably the one that is of a bit of interest with Devin Shore centering Rickard Rakell and Jakob Silfverberg. Silfverberg has 6 goals and 10 points in 11 March games for the Ducks, both of which lead the team. The Ducks are hosting the San Jose Sharks tonight — a team that is on the tail-end of a back to back and has been hit with a mixture of injuries and flu-bugs. Both Logan Couture and Joe Pavelski missed last nights game, along with Erik Karlsson. All of these missing players plus the fact that it's a back to back means the Ducks could be able to actually put up some goals.
This centre is in a sneaky-good spot tonight.
The Anaheim Ducks are a team that struggles to score, but over the last three weeks they've been playing much better at least from a possession stand point (0-6-3 in their last 9). They've put up the 7th best CF/60 at 61.83 and a respectable 52.62 CF% which ranks 6th over that time. Their opponent, the Pittsburgh Penguins, have struggled allowing a league-worst 67.1 CA/60 and a brutal possession of 43.88 CF% which also ranks last. The top line for the Ducks is Ryan Getzlaf, Rickard Rakell and Daniel Sprong and they are who I have some interest in with this matchup. Rakell and Getzlaf play on the top power play unit together so a two-man mini-stack makes sense.
Value Winger Could Be on First Line
The Anaheim Ducks have shuffled their lines more than any team this year, largely due to a bevy of injuries. They are finally starting to get healthy, and their lineup looks like a competitive one rather than a pushover. Daniel Sprong was on the first line in practice yesterday with Ryan Getzlaf and Rickard Rakell, who could return tonight after a lengthy absence. Sprong isn't a special talent, but opportunities are king in fantasy and his price tag is right.
Facing a bad goalie can change the fortunes of a struggling offence.
The Anaheim Ducks are 26th in the NHL with a 46.79 CF% and 28th with a 50.84 CF/60 over the last three weeks, but tonight might be a good game for things to turn around. They are hosting the Carolina Hurricanes who have some terrible goaltending. It's currently uncertain who will start tonight but it sounds like it will be Petr Mrazek. He has struggled this season with a 2.56 GAA and an .894 SV% and although the Ducks offense has been non-existent, there is some hope tonight. Ryan Getzlaf is centering Rickard Rakell and Pontus Aberg on the top line and leads the team with 22 points in 24 games. While Rakell is the shooter in terms of sheer volume (he leads the team with 87 SOG), his 5.7 percent shooting percentage leaves a lot to be desired. Though it with that low and his career number at 12.7 percent, I expect things to turn around for Rakell soon.
This line has sneaky potential on home ice tonight.
Rickard Rakell has been firing the puck on net with 85 shots in 29 games — 30 more than second on the Anaheim Ducks. Although he isn't the leading goal-scorer, which is surprising when you consider that it is waiver wire pick-up Pontus Aberg who leads the team with nine goals. These two are centered by Ryan Getzlaf on the Ducks top line as they host the Chicago Blackhawks. While Aberg is relegated to the second power play unit, the duo of Getzlaf and Rakell play on the top unit and make for an intriguing mini-stack if you don't want to go with all three.
You can add the Anaheim Ducks to the list of teams that have stacked their top line.
So, you can add the Anaheim Ducks to the list of teams that have stacked their top line. They've got Rickard Rakell playing alongside Ryan Getzlaf and the recent returning Ondrej Kase. This line is stacked and really the only reason to ever think about using an Anaheim Ducks player — aside from John Gibson in net. Although Kase isn't on the top power play unit with Rakell and Getzlaf, he is a vital part of this line stack as his speed and offensive potential really helps here. With that said, a Rakell+Getzlaf two-man mini-stack is certainly in play if you don't want to load it up as their power play correlation gives them elite upside.
This player is on the downswing of his career, but is still a solid contributor.
Despite being on the downswing of his career, Ryan Getzlaf is still a player you can count on for offensive fantasy production — when he is on the ice. The oft-injured forward is centering Rickard Rakell and Patrick Eaves on the top line at the moment in a game in which the Anaheim Ducks host the Minnesota Wild — a team on the tail-end of a back to back. After defeating the Los Angeles Kings last night, they tired Wild team will take on a Ducks team that has struggled in the possession game as they rank 30th with a 42.77 CF%. Given the back to back situation for Minnesota, that should help offset some of this and allow the Ducks to put the puck in the net a few times.
This center will have a familiar winger and a brand new winger
Troy Terry has been playing a lot with Ryan Getzlaf and Rickard Rakell in the preseason so we can assume he will at least start on the top line. This line is a good price at $15,400 and I think Getzlaf and Rakell are both underpriced albeit in a tougher matchup on the road to take on the San Jose Sharks. Getzlaf and Rakell will play on the top power play unit together which will increase their upside.
This winger has set a career high in points this season
Rickard Rakell has set a new career high in points this season with 66 and is just one goal away from tying his career high in that department. Rakell is playing on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, a line that has been dominant when together this season. They play on the top power play unit as well which gives them elite upside given their correlation throughout the game. Rakell has seven points and 30 shots in his last 10 games which is about on par with his season averages.
This winger has been scoring in bunches in 2018
Rickard Rakell is having a career season this year as he has already surpassed his career high in points and is just one goal away from tying his career high set last season. He has been on a scoring tear in 2018 having scored 18 goals in 38 games, which is four more than anybody else on the Ducks in that time period. Tonight the Ducks host a Colorado Avalanche team that just lost their starting goalie Semyon Varlamov for the season. This means they are likely to face Jonathan Bernier who has actually played well this season. However, the Avalanche have given up a lot of shot attempts as of late with a CA/60 of 62.51 over their last 10 games, which is seventh worst in the NHL. Rakell is playing with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry and this is an top stack as the trio stick together on the top power play unit giving them elite upside.
