Boston center thriving on top line while Bergeron is out
With Patrice Bergeron out, Riley Nash has slid into a fantasy goldmine centering Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. Although his price has ballooned because of that, it is still exploitable especially to free up salary to grab Nikita Kucherov in the early slate. Nash has three goals and four assists in his last five games. The only game he was kept out of the scoresheet was in the 2-1 grinder against the Montreal Canadiens. Nash has quietly collected 35 points in 64 games this year despite a bottom-six role, but he is thriving now alongside stud wingers like Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. There are a number of solid options at center on the early slate, and Nash's name enters that conversation given the affordable price tag.
A new role creates value on Boston's top forward line
Let's make no mistake, Riley Nash is no where near the caliber of player as Patrice Bergeron. However, he is skilled enough to take advantage of playing alongside Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak on the Bruin's top forward line. Nash has posted two goals and two assists over the last three games and has a favorable matchup awaiting him as the Detroit Red Wings limp into Beantown having dropped six of their last eight games. If you're looking for exposure to either Pastrnak or Bergeron, pairing them with Nash is an easy way to soften the salary cap hit.
