Robert Griffin III Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Robert Griffin III Will Start, Trace McSorley Could Play Sunday

The Ravens are resting Lamar Jackson Sunday, instead starting Robert Griffin III. Coach John Harbaugh said that Trace McSorley could also get some playing time, making the Ravens' QB situation risky for DFS.

Lamar Jackson Will Not Play Sunday

The Ravens will rest Lamar Jackson for their final game of the regular season. Robert Griffin III will start, while Trace McSorley could also play for the Ravens.

Schefter: Joe Flacco not expected to play, Lamar Jackson expected to start and handle majority of work; Keke Coutee, Antonio Gates (both Q) expected to play

Joe Flacco is not expected to play Sunday, setting up Lamar Jackson to handle his first career start with Robert Griffin also likely seeing some snaps, although how many is a mystery. There is some GPP viability to Jackson given his rushing upside, but the uncertain snap count does make him a risky proposition for cash games. Jackson is reportedly set to handle the "majority" of the snaps, but that's a vague statement and may depend more so on how he handles things during the game. Alex Collins gets a bump from a dual-threat QB, as it'll force one of the defenders in the box to account for him which isn't the case with Flacco under center. Houston WR Keke Coutee is set to return Sunday, although Demaryius Thomas' presence does eat into his target share. He's on the fringe of GPP viability against a Washington defense that is more vulnerable via the air. Antonio Gates, who like Coutee is officially listed as questionable, is also expected to play Sunday. He hasn't been a consistent target for Phillip Rivers and isn't a recommended DFS target. In other Schefter news, AJ Green (doubtful) isn't expected to play, but that's no surprise.

QB Lamar Jackson returned to practice Friday while QB Joe Flacco (hip) remained out

While Coach John Harbaugh had said that Flacco didn't have to practice to play he still looks to be doubtful after not logging a single practice this week in any capacity. Jackson is expected to be the likely starter after dealing with a stomach issue yesterday, though Robert Griffin III may see snaps after taking some first-team reps and it was reported RG3 was being considered as the Week 11 starter earlier in the week. The Ravens passing offense will have a plus home matchup against a Bengals secondary that was just shredded by the Saints and comes in as the second worst scoring defense in the league. Both QB's should be heavily considered at their price tags depending on who starts.

QBs Joe Flacco and Lamar Jackson not practicing Thursday

Flacco is still nursing a hip injury while Jackson was out with a stomach issue. Consequently, Robert Griffin III took all of the first-team reps at QB on Thursday. It now appears RG3 may be the frontrunner to start in Week 11 after it was reported yesterday he was being considered over the rookie QB, if Flacco was unable to suit up. Friday's practice will be very telling regarding the status of all 3 QB's for Sunday's plus matchup against a Bengals secondary that was just shredded by the Saints.

Joe Flacco (hip) not practicing Wednesday

This wasn't much of a surprise after the long-time Ravens QB was on crutches during the bye week. However, Coach John Harbaugh has already said that Flacco doesn't have to practice to play this week so he seems to still have a chance to play in Week 11. If Flacco can't suit up on Sunday, either Lamar Jackson or Robert Griffin III will get the start in a friendly home matchup with the Bengals and be a solid potential value at QB.

RGIII, Hayden Hurst, Mark Walton headline inactives for Thursday Night Football

None come as too much of a surprise, Hurst had even been scratched on Wednesday as he works back from a foot surgery. Walton is third on Cincinnati's running back depth chart but could be fantasy relevant if anything happened to Joe Mixon or Giovanni Bernard.

Robert Griffin will start on Sunday

Griffin has one last chance to prove himself worthy of being in the Browns' future. It may be too little too late though. Griffin, across four starts, has yet to eclipse 200 passing yards or throw a touchdown pass. Despite a clear incentive to perform well in a meaningless game against a Steelers defense that could potentially rest some of its starters, he won't be a viable fantasy option.

Robert Griffin III does not practice; in concussion protocol

RGIII is dealing with a concussion and has not practiced yet this week. If he can't play, the Browns will return to utilizing Cody Kessler as their starting QB. The Browns will be facing a non-motivated Steelers team and whichever QB is starting could be a sneaky GPP play due to this.

Robert Griffin will start for Browns in Week 16; will be replaced by Cody Kessler if "things don't go well"

Griffin hasn't played well as a Brown. Through three games he's yet to score a touchdown or throw for more than 196 yards. He also hurts the fantasy potential of Corey Coleman and Terrelle Pryor. Coach Hue Jackson said he'll start on Saturday, but he would replace him with Cody Kessler if Griffin struggles again, which seems likely. Griffin isn't a viable fantasy option, as there's a good chance he won't even get a full game against San Diego. Pryor, Coleman, and the rest of the Browns players aren't really options either as their offense continues to be abysmal. They haven't scored more than 13 points since October.
