Robin Lehner Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Affordable goalie has big upside on home ice
Robin Lehner checks in at $7,800 on DraftKings and $8,100 on FanDuel in the game with the lowest total of the evening. Though it is considered a coin flip game by the experts and David Pastrnak could return for Boston tonight, it is tough to overlook the Islanders' defensive prowess this season. Robin Lehner is winless in two starts against the Bruins this season, but he has allowed only three goals on 62 shots for a 1.45 GAA and .952 SV%. Additionally, Lehner's .933 SV% at even-strength is sixth-best in the National Hockey League. While the Bruins are tough to defeat, it is not because of their offense which is tied for Buffalo for the worst mark on the road (2.47 GF/G) in the Eastern Conference. Lehner has big save upside in a game that should have a playoff feel.
Cheap goalie in line for saves and win
Robin Lehner, who is just $7,500 on FanDuel, stands out as a core play given the matchup and his torrid stretch. Lehner has recorded 36.8, 23.2, 20, 48.8 and 39.2 FanDuel Points in his last five appearances, with the middle outing coming in relief of Thomas Greiss. Lehner has been dialed in despite tough matchups which include a shutout in Toronto. Even on DraftKings, Lehner checks in under $8,000 and is a fine option in all formats as he routinely sees 30 plus shots per contest. This could be a flat spot for Chicago coming off their big Winter Classic showdown with the Boston Bruins.
Heavily Favored Goalie at Home
Goalie is a wasteland tonight as all three games should see plenty of offense. Robin Lehner is the "least objectionable" option in my opinion. Lehner has been solid this year with a 2.44 GAA and .920 SV%. At home, he's been even better with a 2.17 GAA and .924 SV%. He's a -175 at home against a lousy Ottawa team and should be in line to pick up the win tonight.
Who wants to pile up the saves tonight?
Marc-Andre Fleury provides the most "safety" of any goalie tonight given the likelihood of goal support and suppression, but if we are looking for someone in a good spot and will see a fair number of shots, Robin Lehner ticks the boxes. Lehner has had four tough starts to begin the season, including two against San Jose. The first time out he blanked them in Brooklyn. Last time out in San Jose, he made 37 saves on 41 shots. Florida is playing back to back nights, and what amounts to a coin flip game, Lehner is worth consideration. Over the last several years, Lehner has been on some bad Buffalo teams yet put together .924, .920 and .908 save percentage. Take a gamble on him in tournaments.
Tough luck goalie with big upside in tournaments
Poor Robin Lehner. The Swedish netminder sports a 4-7-1 record on home ice despite owning the National Hockey League's best home GAA (1.94) and save percentage (.935). Lehner faces the challenge of slowing down a Flyer team which has played much better after they dropped nine consecutive games in November. Working in Lehner's favor is how solid he has been, as the 6'4" netminder has allowed three goals or less in 12 of his last 13 starts. While the wins are seldom there because he receives little-to-no goal support, a matchup on home ice against an average road team will be as favorable as a spot imaginable. Lehner routinely sees 30-plus saves as the Sabres tend to spend more time in their own zone. If Robin plays like he has been playing at the KeyBank Center, he could be in for an excellent game. Fire him up in tournaments.
