Ryan Spooner Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
This sensational rookie continues to impress
Elias Pettersson has been more than anybody would have expected as a rookie. While the elite offensive ability was evident, nobody expected him to be this good, this quickly. He's got 26 goals and 54 points in 51 games in his first NHL season and has really settled in among the leagues most efficient goal-scorers. He's playing on a line with Brock Boeser and NHL journeyman Ryan Spooner. The line certainly has plenty of offensive upside and while Spooner is a nice cheap third-wheel, it may make more sense to stack just Boeser and Pettersson as a two-man mini-stack as they remain together on the top power play unit for the Vancouver Canucks while Spooner is relegated to PP2.
Value Line Stack In Breakout Spot
If you're looking for value tonight, consider taking the second line of Boston which features David Krejci, Ryan Spooner, and Jake DeBrusk. Pointless in each of the past three games, this line is due to breakout in a big way against a hapless Edmonton defense that has has surrendered 3.8 goals against during the month of February. Also seeing time on Boston's ninth power play, look for Boston's second line to be very active on the man advantage tonight against an Edmonton penalty kill that ranks dead last in the NHL this season.
Value Line Stack In Great Spot
If you're looking for value from a line stack tonight, consider taking Boston's second line which features David Krejci, Ryan Spooner, and Jake DeBrusk. With 16 points in his first 12 home games this season, Krejci and the second line draw a juicy matchup against a New Jersey team that has played well over their heads throughout much of this season despite allowing too many scoring chances for their own good. Not required to play the "tough" minutes against the opposition's top scoring threats, Krejci, Spooner, and DeBrusk should have no problems paying off their reasonable salaries with the amount of offensive zone faceoffs they receives on home ice.
Value Line Stack With Juicy Matchup
If you're looking for value tonight, consider taking the second line of Boston which features David Krejci, Ryan Spooner, and Jake DeBrusk. Fresh off a multipoint effort in last night's win over Montreal, Krejci and the second line draw a juicy matchup against a struggling Islanders defense that has allowed the most scoring chances in the league this year and has surrendered 4.33 goal against over their last nine games. Also seeing time on Boston's ninth ranked power play, look for Boston's second line to be very active on the man advantage tonight against an Islanders penalty kill that ranks 30th in the NHL this season.
Boston winger is an excellent tournament play
Ryan Spooner has potted four goals in his last six games as he continues to contribute to a Bruin team that has played much better since the start of the season. Spooner is skating on the second line with veteran David Krejci and young Jake DeBrusk. With the emergence of Danton Heinen, Spooner has been shifted off the team's top power play unit, but he is still seeing sufficient time on the second unit - a second unit that will be much lower owned than the star-studded trio of Bergeron, Marchand and Pastrnak. On home ice, Spooner has eight points (1 goal, 7 assists) in just 10 games while logging just over 14 minutes of ice time, and in four games last season against the Canadiens, Spooner picked up two goals and two assists. Fire him up as part of a stack or as a solo play in tournaments.
Value Stack In Great Spot
If you're looking for value tonight, consider taking the second line of Boston which features David Krejci, Ryan Spooner, and Jake DeBrusk. Fresh off a multipoint effort in their last game at Ottawa, Krejci and the second line draw a juicy matchup against the league's worst defensive teams in the Islanders who have allowed the most scoring chances on tonight's slate. Also seeing time on Boston's ninth ranked power play, look for this trio to be very active on the man advantage tonight against an Islanders penalty kill that ranks 30th in the NHL this season.
New opportunities for this young center
With Patrice Bergeron unlikely to suit up this afternoon, Ryan Spooner figures to be called upon to join David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand on the Bruin's top forward line. Spooner has quietly racked up 24 goals and added 64 assists over the last two seasons and has proven to be a very dangerous weapon on Boston's power-play, where tallied 18 points last season. Today's matchup is about as ideal as they come as Spooner and Company will turn their attention to a Colorado team that allowed a league worst 3.37 goals against per game last season while also sporting a horrendous 76.6% penalty kill.
