Sean Kilpatrick Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Increased Role and a Revenge Narrative to Boot

The Bulls picked up Sean Kilpatrick off the waiver wire and so far, he's been a nice add to a team that has been decimated by injuries. He has scored at least 23 fantasy points in each of his last five games and now gets to face the team that released him. Not only is this a revenge spot against the Nets, but it's also a favorable matchup. Brooklyn is one of the worst defensive teams in basketball.

Sixers trade Jahlil Okafor and Nik Stauskas for Trevor Booker, Nets will release Sean Kilpatrick

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a trade Jahlil Okafor, Nik Stauskas, and a second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Trevor Booker and, in order to make room for both players on the active roster, Brooklyn will release Sean Kilpatrick, who has seen sporadic playing time of late in the backcourt rotation. In terms of Thursday's daily fantasy slates, this trade has a few impacts as Stauskas' absence could free up a few minutes for Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Jerryd Bayless off the bench is T.J. McConnell is unable to suit up. On the Brooklyn side, Booker and Kilpatrick's playing time will likely be spread around to Tyler Zeller, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, DeMarre Carroll, and Allen Crabbe, though Zeller may be the only one to see a significant enough bump to warrant any additional consideration in daily fantasy formats.

Sean Kilpatrick (hamstring) and Quincy Acy (ankle) both ruled OUT for tonight and Wednesday

Kilpatrick and Acy are done for the season, which opens up extra minutes for Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Caris LeVert in their final two games. RHJ has been limited to 25 minutes or so each night, despite playing excellent basketball as of late. After Acy’s ankle limited him to eight minutes last game, he finally got to 30 and he killed it: 16 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a block. Over the past ten games, RHJ’s usage has ticked up 1.2% while his per-minute fantasy production has increased 22.2% to 1.1 FD ppm. He's a great value option tonight. LeVert saw his minutes reach 25 without Kilpatrick in the lineup and he scored a team-high 19 points in their last game. He's another potential value option, but his lack of minutes caps his upside, as with most Nets.

Quincy Acy (ankle) ruled out for Monday; Sean Kilpatrick (hamstring) questionable

Acy has been battling an ankle injury for a couple of weeks now, he'll sit out tomorrow's game against the Celtics. Kilpatrick has missed the past two games with a hamstring injury. He's questionable for Monday. Both Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert have played a few extra minutes without Kilpatrick, and they've turned in solid fantasy days for their salaries in both contests. They each had a team-high 19 points against the Bulls on Saturday.

Sean Kilpatrick (hamstring) officially ruled out Saturday for Nets

Kilpatrick missed last game as well. His absence won't move the needle too much, a query on CourtIQ indicates he doesn't swing usages or fantasy production too much. Isaiah Whitehead, K.J. McDaniels, and Archie Goodwin will pick up some extra minutes, but they're still stuck in Brooklyn's deep rotation, so they won't be enough to be useful.

Sean Kilpatrick (hamstring) questionable for Saturday

Kilpatrick has officially been listed as questionable for tomorrow's game against the Chicago Bulls with left hamstring tightness that forced him to miss the Nets' previous game. His potential absence would free up some additional playing time for the likes of Isaiah Whitehead and K.J. McDaniels but Brooklyn extends their rotation so deep that no one player receives the luxury of extra playing time. It's difficult to hone in on any one player when the Nets are thin at a position, let alone nearly healthy like they are expected to be tomorrow. In fact, the only player currently unavailable is Joe Harris, who has been sidelined for an extended period of time with a shoulder injury and was recently ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Sean Kilpatrick (hamstring) ruled OUT for Nets; Isaiah Whitehead (ankle) will play

Kilpatrick was listed as questionable as he reaggravated a hamstring injury in their last game. Whitehead missed that one, but he's back tonight after a one-game absence. Not a whole lot changes with this situation in terms of usage or production. Caris LeVert scores an extra 0.07 DK ppm, but he probably won't get enough run to be useful. Brooklyn plays a ton of guys and there simply aren't enough minutes to go around. Archie Goodwin and K.J. McDaniels will pick up extra time on the court, but they don't offer high ceilings. It's clearly a great matchup as Orlando gives up the 25th-most fantasy points per game and have poor DvP rankings across the board. Brook Lopez and Jeremy Lin are the best bets and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is a riskier option with some upside that's relatively cheap.

Isaiah Whitehead (ankle) probable for Thursday; Sean Kilpatrick (hamstring) questionable

Whitehead missed Wednesday's game, but he's been upgraded to probable for Thursday. Kilpatrick appears to have re-aggravated a hamstring injury on Tuesday and he's questionable. Kilpatrick was crushing it Tuesday, picking up 22 FD points in 11 minutes while making 80% of his shots before getting pulled. Brooklyn will probably be cautious here since they aren't playing for anything at this point. Without Whitehead, Spencer Dinwiddie picked up 25 minutes and was effective, scoring 13 points and contributing seven assists. K.J. McDaniels and Archie Goodwin both saw 22+ minutes. If Whitehead returns, all three will lose some minutes.

Quincy Acy (left ankle soreness) ruled out for Thursday; Joe Harris continues to be out

Quincy Acy is dealing with a sore ankle and has been ruled out for tomorrow's game against the Pistons. Acy only played 14 minutes last night and has not be a reliable DFS option with the Nets relatively healthy in the frontcourt. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson continues to play well but also continues to have his minutes restricted. Trevor Booker has also seen a slight spike in minutes and will be used as Hollis-Jefferson's backup. Joe Harris has been out since March 4th and Sean Kilpatrick returned last night to play off the bench. Kilpatrick saw less than 15 minutes but is working his way back into the rotation after missing seven games.

Sean Kilpatrick (hamstring) expected to play tonight; exact allotment of minutes still unclear

Kilpatrick is officially available to play in tonight's game against the Philadelphia 76ers after previously being listed as probable on the Nets' injury report with a strained left hamstring that had forced him to miss seven consecutive games, However, his actual role in the rotation still remains unclear, as Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson told reporters in his pregame interview that Kilpatrick will play "here and there" in tonight's contest. Kilpatrick is clearly not a viable option tonight, but his potential presence in the rotation does throw a wrench into the projected fantasy value of players like K.J. McDaniels, Isaiah Whitehead, and Spencer Dinwiddie.
