Sergei Bobrovsky Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Elite Goaltender Finding Form
After a tough start to the season, Sergei Bobrovsky is finding the form that has made him one of the best goalies in the world. Bobrovsky has won five of his last six starts, and he hasn't allowed more than three goals in any of those games. He's held opponents to one goal in four of those six. A matchup with Detroit is an inviting one, as the Red Wings rank in the bottom five in the NHL in goals scored.
Bobrovsky Tending the Twine in Home Opener
The Blue Jackets elected to start Joonas Korpisalo in the season opener, opting to save Bobvosky for the home tilt against the Hurricanes. This seems like a smart move as “Bob” was excellent at home last season with a 2.28 GAA and .925 SV% compared to 2.72 GAA and .912 SV% on the road. The Hurricanes are coming off a game where they put 46 shots on goal, but had just one goal. While it’s unreasonable to expect something similar from Bobrovsky tonight, I do expect him to see 30+ shots and pick up the win.
Top Goalie Tonight
If you are simply looking for safety in goal tonight, Sergei Bobrovsky should be at the top of your list. The Columbus Blue Jackets are a massive favorite tonight at the Nationwide Arena as they take on a Detroit Red Wings team that has struggled mightily to both win games (winning just four times in their last 17 contests), and score goals of late (sitting 27th overall in goals per game in the National Hockey League this month). Bobrovsky and the Blue Jackets should cruise to an easy victory this evening and although the Blue Jackets goaltender may not see a ton of rubber, he does have shutout potential.
This early Vezina favourite is in a premium matchup tonight
The Columbus Blue Jackets are hosting an Ottawa Senators that are on the tail-end of a back to back in which they defeated the Dallas Stars in overtime last night. The travel from Ottawa to Columbus isn’t that bad, but it is still an overnight travel situation that may cause extra fatigue for a Sens team that is pretty terrible. Over their last 10 games, the Blue Jackets have allowed just 53.81 CA/60 which is the second best in the NHL over the time. Bobrovsky was an early front-runner for the Vezina but had a few bumps along the way. He has a 2.43 goals against average and a .920 save percentage along with four shutouts this season and this matchup is about one of the best that you can have. I expect Bobrovsky to put up a big score tonight.
Top Goalie Tonight
I am perfectly fine rostering a number of goaltenders tonight in cash games (Sergei Bobrovsky, Jonathan Quick, Martin Jones or Roberto Luongo), but I am giving the edge to Sergei Bobrovsky. The Montreal Canadiens continue to throw plenty of pucks on goal (averaging 33.5 shots on goal per game, which is the eight-most in the National Hockey League this season), but they just cannot score (ranking 29th overall in goals per game), and with the Canadiens missing some key offensive players, I do not see them posing much of an offensive threat, putting Bobrovsky in a prime spot tonight in all formats. The Blue Jackets netminder is a lock for the win and he could very well end up being the highest scoring goalie on the evening.
Top Goalie Tonight
Although I would have no problems rolling with Devan Dubnyk tonight, I prefer my cash game goalie on home ice, so I am giving the edge to Sergei Bobrovsky. The Columbus Blue Jackets are also the biggest favorite on the board tonight, and I just cannot see the Detroit Red Wings doing much offensive damage. The Red Wings have the lowest projected goal total tonight on this four-game slate, and they have struggled all season long to score goals, sitting 28th overall in the National Hockey League in goals per game. Bob should cruise to an easy victory this evening at the Nationwide Arena, and would not be surprised if he shuts out Detroits inept offense.
This goalie has been incredible on home ice this season
Sergei Bobrovsky has been absolutely dominant on home ice this season. He is sporting a 2.06 goals against average, a .934 save percentage and includes all four of his shutouts. Tonight he faces a San Jose Sharks team that shoots the puck a bunch but has been well below average in scoring. This is a good recipe for a goalie that could see a high volume of shots and able to rack up the points via saves. With the injuries to the Sharks, their lineup looks depleted which will also help Bobrovsky keep the puck out of the net and hopefully pick up the win as well.
Easily The Top Goalie Tonight
Despite playing in back-to-back games the Columbus Blue Jackets are the biggest favorite on the board tonight, which puts goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky at the top of our cash game wish list. The Vancouver Canucks are not only having a difficult time winning games of late (losing eight of their last nine), they are also struggling offensively, ranking 28th overall in the National Hockey League in goals per game, and I cant see them breaking through more than once tonight at Nationwide Arena. Look for Bobrovsky to cruise to an easy victory tonight, and dont be surprised if he shuts out this offensively challenged Canucks squad.
Pay Up For This Goalie In Low Scoring Affair
After a forgettable 2015 campaign, former Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky rebounded nicely last year for a solid Blue Jackets team. After struggling during the month of December, Bobrovsky has rebounded nicely with a 3-1 record which includes a stellar .948 SV% over his last four starts. He'll have a great opportunity to improve upon his recent success tonight against a weak Buffalo Sabres team that generates the fewest scoring chances in the league and has struggled on the man advantage throughout the duration of the season. In a game that should play tight, with few goals exchanged between two struggling offenses, expect a sharp performance from Bobrovsky at a relatively lower than expected ownership percentage.
This goalie could be a low owned tournament option in a good spot
The Columbus Blue Jackets are home to the Edmonton Oilers, a spot that most people don't want to target. However, Sergei Bobrovsky is arguably the best goaltender in the league, and fresh of a Vezina Trophy win, he has continued his dominance this season. He has put up a 2.06 goals against average and a .930 save percentage with four shutouts. The Oilers are middle-of-the-pack in terms of goal scoring, averaging 2.86 goals per game ranking them 18th overall. However, they are firing a ton of shots on net averaging 34.46 per game, which is the sixth most in the NHL. With all of those shots, it will allow Bobrovsky to rack up the saves and with the win, he could put up a big score tonight which is what you need in tournaments.
