Shane Larkin ruled out Wednesday

Shane Larkin will miss game 5 tonight against the 76ers with a shoulder injury, he suffered last game. According to Brad Stevens Larkin will be out for a while. Larkin was playing about 12-16 minutes for the Celtics, so not a huge DFS Impact. Terry Rozier will get all the minutes he can handle tonight, and Marcus Smart will pick up some extra minutes.

Celtics starting Baynes, Nader, Bird, Yabusele and Larkin

With Larkin being one of the only healthy PGs on the roster, his minutes will be limited tonight, making him unplayable in DFS.

Terry Rozier (ankle) and Shane Larkin (illness) ruled out Tuesday

Rozier previously confirmed with reporters during Monday's practice that he would play in Tuesday's matchup with Milwaukee Bucks, but he's now been officially ruled out due to a sprained left ankle, joining Shane Larkin and Kyrie Irving among the other Boston Celtics inactives. Kadeem Allen and Jayson Tatum split the backup the backup point guard minutes in Saturday's win, and they'll likely be relied upon to handle a majority of the ballhandling responsibilities, while Al Horford could also slot in as a point-forward in unconventional lineup combinations. Allen or Marcus Morris should end up replacing Rozier in the starting lineup, depending on how comfortable head coach Brad Stevens is with Tatum handling the point guard duties. Unfortunately, there's almost no sample size with the aforementioned players off the court together this season, but Tatum and Horford appear to be the main Celtics to target for all formats, while Morris, Jaylen Brown, or Greg Monroe could return value in tournament settings as well.

Shane Larkin ruled out Saturday, Jaylen Brown now probable

Shane Larkin will miss tonight's game against Toronto with an illness. At the moment it's unclear which non used bench player will see some of Larkin's minutes, but one thing is for sure Terry Rozier should get all the minutes he can handle. Adbel Nader will also see some extra minutes tonight. Jaylen Brown, who was listed questionable earlier in the day is now probable. Brown is only a GPP play tonight, mainly because of the injury risk.

Shane Larkin will start for Kyrie Irving (knee) on Monday

Irving had previously been added to the Boston Celtics' injury report and was officially ruled out for Monday's game against the against the Chicago Bulls due to a sore left knee that has now forced him to miss two separate games this season. Meanwhile, Daniel Theis remains probable with a sore right hamstring and was a DNP-CD in Saturday's loss despite initially being medically cleared to play. The last time Irving was unavailable Marcus Smart was also sidelined with a hand laceration, which enabled Terry Rozier to start at point guard and put together some monster daily fantasy performances. Because of that, Rozier was considered the leading candidate to draw the start in place of Irving, but head coach Brad Stevens has opted to go in a different direction by starting Shane Larkin in order to keep the cohesiveness of the second unit intact. Regardless of the starter, both Rozier and Smart will see enough playing time and are inexpensive enough to jointly exceed salary-based expectations off the bench, though Smart has seen the larger usage increase with Irving off the court this season, and he, Greg Monroe, Marcus Morris, and Al Horford all own at least a +3.8% usage rate differential in the aforementioned scenario.

Aron Baynes (elbow) ruled out Saturday; Shane Larkin (knee) available to play

Baynes has officially been ruled out and won't play in Saturday's game against the New York Knicks after previously being listed as questionable on the Boston Celtics' injury report with a left elbow injury he sustained during Friday's contest. Meanwhile, Shane Larkin is cleared to suit up following his earlier questionable designation on the injury report and, according to head coach Brad Stevens, is available to play 10-12 minutes in his return from injury. Daniel Theis ended up starting the second half in place of Baynes and was extremely effective in 20 minutes of action, totaling a new career-high with 19 points, and he'll draw the start alongside Al Horford in the frontcourt this evening as well. Following Stevens' statement that he planned to make changes to his rotation, no Celtics player eclipsed the 30-minute mark in Friday's contest while 12 total players logged at least some time on the court, so it will be interesting to see if this becomes a trend moving forward or if it was just a one-game outlier while Stevens experiments with different lineup combinations.

Marcus Smart (quad) expected to play Friday; Shane Larkin (knee) remains out

Smart sustained a minor left quad contusion in Wednesday's practice but is still expected to play in Friday's game against the Detroit Pistons, according to head coach Brad Stevens, even though he officially remains listed as probable on the Boston Celtics' injury report with the aforementioned quad contusion. While Smart appears to be on track to return from an 11-game absence due to a right-hand laceration, Shane Larkin will miss his ninth consecutive game because of lingering right knee soreness. Stevens has hinted in recent days that he may opt to shake up the rotation with the Celtics dropping four of their last five games prior to the All-Star break, though he failed to provide any specifics. Either way, the return of Smart to the lineup would almost assuredly cut into the playing time of Terry Rozier to some extent and possibly even Jaylen Brown or Jayson Tatum if Stevens wants to experiment with more lineup combinations at the two through four spots on te florr with Al Horford and Kyrie Irving manning the center and point guard positions, respectively.

Kyrie Irving (quad), Marcus Morris (hip), and Shane Larkin (knee) ruled out Friday

Irving has officially been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the Atlanta Hawks after previously being listed as questionable on the Boston Celtics' injury report with a right quad contusion that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. Meanwhile, Marcus Morris and Shane Larkin both have also been ruled out due to their respective ailments. Additionally, newly-signed big man, Greg Monroe, won't be available to make his Celtics debut in Friday's contest and likely won't until Sunday at the earliest. The Celtics are already without Marcus Smart for approximately another week or so, meaning Terry Rozier will draw the start at point guard for the second time in as many games after posting an impressive triple-double in 33 minutes in Wednesday's blowout win. The primary beneficiary with Irving, Smart, Morris, and Larkin off the court is likely to be Al Horford, as he owns a massive +14.6% usage rate differential, equating to a 34.0% usage rate overall, albeit, in a grossly limited sample size.

Shane Larkin (sore knee) available to play Wednesday

Larkin has officially been cleared to play and will suit up for tonight's game against the New York Knicks after previously being listed as questionable on the Boston Celtics' injury report with a sore right knee that had forced him to be a late scratch from Monday's win. The news of his availability is a bit more pertinent than normal since the Celtics are already without Kyrie Irving and Marcus Smart, who is out for approximately another week or so, which means Terry Rozier will draw the start at point guard with Larkin serving as the primary guard off the bench behind Rozier and Jaylen Brown in the backcourt. The clear beneficiaries from a usage perspective with Irving and Smart off the court have been Al Horford and Jayson Tatum, as each own at least a massive +10.1% usage rate differential in this scenario, while Horford also leads the way with a 32.3% usage rate overall and has averaged 1.21 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.14 on FanDuel.

Kyrie Irving (quad) ruled out Wednesday; Shane Larkin (knee) questionable

Irving has officially been ruled out and won't play in tonight's game against the New York Knicks after previously being listed as probable in the updated version of the Boston Celtics' game notes due to a right quad contusion. Meanwhile, Shane Larkin has been listed as probable on the injury report with a sore right knee, and Guerschon Yabusele is listed as probable with an ankle issue. The Celtics are already without Marcus Smart for approximately another week or so, meaning Terry Rozier will likely draw the start at point guard with Larkin serving as the primary guard off the bench behind Rozier and Jaylen Brown if he's cleared to return from his one-game injury absence. The clear beneficiaries from a usage perspective with Irving and Smart off the court have been Al Horford and Jayson Tatum, as each own at least a massive +10.1% usage rate differential, while Horford also leads the way with a 32.3% usage rate overall and has averaged 1.21 fantasy points per minute on DraftKings and 1.14 on FanDuel in this scenario.
