With a good week, Charley Hoffman can make the Tour Championship for the first time since the 2017 season. In 28 starts this year Hoffman has posted a top 25 in half of his starts. In addition to his steady play, Hoffman has a reputation for being a player that can make a ton of birdies. With his bottom-barrel price, the combination of steady play and his upside has Hoffman trending as one of the top value plays for the week. On DraftKings, there is a strong argument to pivot in GPP's to the less popular Si Woo Kim. In a non-cut event, the upside Kim brings to the table can be a difference-maker. With three tour victories to his name ( including a Players Championship), Kim has a resume worth paying attention to in terms of upside in big events. With only 69 players in this week's field, it will be hard to have rosters that can truly have low ownership. Predicted to have less than 4% ownership Kim makes for an interesting pivot from the very popular Hoffman.

Eighty-three golfers will tee it up for Saturday play at the Wyndham Championship, but due to the MDF rule only around 70 players will compete in Sunday's final round. The MDF rule comes into play when more than 78 players make the cut. In order to speed up play for network television, the PGA Tour will make another cut on Sunday closer to the top 70 and ties. When making roster choices for the weekend slate, keep in mind that only seventy or so players will participate in Sunday's final round. The cut line fell at -4 and there are currently 41 players between 4 under par and 6 under par. The weekend DFS golf scoring system does not reward points for players finishing position. Typically we are looking to roster players who can make a ton of birdies on the weekend. When building rosters for the final full-field event of the season please keep the MDF cut in your roster-building process.

Si Woo Kim is a bit of an enigma in the DFS golf world. On one hand we have an extremely talented player who could potentially compete with some of the best players in world. And on the other hand we have a golfer who has a major propensity to withdraw from a tournament with injuries. Kim withdrew six times last season and is quickly gaining a reputation as a player you can’t trust. Kim is in the field this week and not surprisingly trending towards a low ownership number. Kim last played this event two years ago and his 4th place finish could point to signs that he likes the course. This 37th ranked player in the world finished 10th last week at Sentry Tournament of Champions and should continue to play well again this week. Kim’s bad reputation will often lead to low ownership levels, and this week is no exception. The talent and upside are there, and Kim is playing great golf prior to this week. Obviously this is not a cash play, but if you are playing multiple GPP lineups, then Kim is worth a serious look.
