Skal Labissiere Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Young Player Should See Increased Time Tonight

Center Hassan Whiteside is listed as questionable for tonight’s game against Milwaukee, but Whiteside missed shootaround today which likely decreases the chances he will be able to play tonight. Skal Labissiere leads Portland in minutes with Whiteside off the court this season, averaging 12.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per 36 minutes in that time. Labissiere should see time on the court even if Whiteside is able to give it a go, so at near minimum price, Labissiere should be a consideration in GPP formats even if Whiteside starts, in case the latter is limited by injury or foul trouble.

Skal Labissiere (ankle) available to play Sunday

Labissiere and Hassan Whiteside will be available to play in Sunday's matchup against the Atlanta Hawks despite dealing with a sprained right ankle. Whiteside was relied upon to absorb 34 minutes at the center position in Friday's loss with Anthony Tolliver and Mario Hezonja forced to fill more minutes at the forward spots following Hood’s exit. Anfernee Simons entered the game at that point and ended up logging a whopping 36 minutes with head coach Terry Stotts utilizing three-guard lineups for a large portion of that contest. Simons may not see that much playing time this evening, but he still owns a respectable 21.0% usage rate and is averaging 0.81 FanDuel and 0.84 DraftKings points per minute on the season.

Skal Labissiere and Garrett Temple ruled out Monday, Frank Mason questionable

The Kings will be without Skal Labissiere for the third straight game Monday against the Spurs. With Labissiere out, JaKarr Sampson becomes a nice value play. Last game, he played 24 minutes and finished with 24 FDP points. Garrett Temple being out really doesn't have any fantasy impact. Frank Mason is questionable tonight for the Kings with a heel injury.

Skal Labissiere (ankle) and Garrett Temple (ankle) ruled out Friday

Labissiere and Temple have been ruled out and won't play in Friday's matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies due to their respective ailments, which could provide Vince Carter the opportunity to start a second consecutive game since Zach Randolph hasn't seen game action in a little over three weeks for a variety of reasons. The Kings are probably one of the most difficult rotations to project at this point in the season, and even though he started in Tuesday's win, Carter logged just 20 minutes and was inefficient from a daily fantasy standpoint. Willie Cauley-Stein also replaced Kosta Koufos in the starting lineup for that contest, which surprisingly led to Koufos receiving a DNP-CD, just further evidencing the unpredictability surrounding this team on a nightly basis.

Minutes and Matchup Are There

I don't like looking at players with nothing to play for at this point of the season, but Skal Labissiere continues to get minutes and the Kings seem committed to giving him minutes. He's played at least 25 minutes in five of the last six games since returning from injury, and he's played at least 29 minutes in three straight games. The Pacers rank in the bottom half against power forwards and centers this season. We don't have a ton of value tonight, and I'll gladly take 5-6x from Labissiere at this price.

Skal Labissiere (bruised hip) probable Friday

Labissiere has officially been listed as probable on the Sacramento Kings' injury report for Friday's game against the Golden State Warriors after previously being listed as questionable with a bruised left hip that has forced him to miss three consecutive games. Willie Cauley-Stein finally rejoined the starting lineup for Wednesday's overtime win and logged 36 minutes en route to exceeding his salary-based expectations. This lineup change sent Kosta Koufos back to the bench to resume a reserve role, though his playing time stayed roughly the same as it had been in his prior two starts, recording 18 minutes. There's yet to be any confirmation on whether Labissiere will start or come off the bench, but either way, he and Cauley-Stein should lead the frontcourt quartet in total minutes played, with Koufos and Zach Randolph picking up any leftover playing time.

Skal Labissiere (hip contusion) ruled out Wednesday

Labissiere has officially been ruled out and won't play in Wednesday's game against the Miami Heat after previously being listed as questionable on the Sacramento Kings' injury report with a left hip contusion that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games. Meanwhile, Iman Shumpert remains sidelined with left foot plantar fasciitis and is still without a timetable for his return. The Kings are in the midst of a stretch of three games in four nights, and there is currently no indication from the team or head coach Dave Joerger which, if any, veteran players will be rested in tonight's contest. Willie Cauley-Stein managed to average 29 minutes off the bench in his first two games back from a strained lower back that had kept him sidelined for four straight games, which has allowed Kosta Koufos to start seven consecutive contests at center. Zach Randolph has started at power forward in place of Labissiere, averaging 22 minutes, but he'll still remain a candidate to receive a DNP-CD, though an official update on his status or any other of the Kings veterans has not been provided.

Skal Labissiere (bruised hip) remains out Monday

Labissiere has officially been ruled out and won't play in Monday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a bruised left hip he sustained during Friday's win that has now forced him to miss two consecutive games. The Kings are on the second night of a back-to-back set, and there is currently no indication on from the team or head coach Dave Joerger which, if any, veteran players will be rested in tonight's contest. Willie Cauley-Stein was finally able to make his return on Sunday from a strained lower back that had kept him sidelined for four straight games, and he is expected to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup after logging 30 minutes off the bench in his first game back, which will demote Kosta Koufos back to his normal reserve role following five consecutive starts at center. Zach Randolph started at power forward in place of Labissiere yesterday afternoon, recording 21 minutes, but he'll still remain a candidate to receive a DNP-CD on the second leg of the aforementioned back-to-back set, though an official update on his status still hasn't been provided.

Frank Mason starting for De'Aaron Fox; Kosta Koufos, Skal Labissiere starting in the front-court

It's not ultimately clear what this means for Zach Randolph, but it still seems likely that he sees somewhere in the neighborhood of 18-26 minutes off the bench with Willie Cauley-Stein inactive. This is the Kings we're dealing with, so anything is possible. Frank Mason is the top value play on the late-slate and Koufos' stock rises with him being confirmed as a starter. Labissiere is the best bet to lead the Kings front-court in minutes and he's likely to be the top overall producer among the three, but Koufos may prove to be the better value.

Skal Labissiere (sore knee) available to play Wednesday

Labissiere has officially been cleared to play and will suit up for Wednesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans after previously being upgraded from questionable to probable on the Sacramento Kings' injury report with a sore right knee. Meanwhile, Willie Cauley-Stein was held out of Tuesday's practice and has already been ruled out of tonight's contest with a strained lower back that has now forced him to miss three consecutive games. Kosta Koufos has started each of the past two games at center and logged 25 minutes in each start, though Labissiere and Zach Randolph have alternated starts at power forward over that span, and Randolph is coming off of a DNP-CD that has become the norm for several Kings veterans. There continues to be no warning or detectable pattern from head coach Dave Joerger on when players will rest, and even though Koufos has played significant minutes in two straight games, Joerger told reporters during his pregame media availability that he will start at center for the third time in as many games alongside Randolph in the frontcourt.
