Sterling Shepard Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

NYG WR Wan’Dale Robinson (knee) did not practice Thursday. WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring) was limited.

Toney was already buried on the depth chart, and Robinson is already out of our projections. Richie James asked "what did five fingers say to the face?" last Sunday, and the answer was "SLAP" with 5 targets for 59 yards. He's Rich James, Baby... and he'll likely benefit most from these two players being absent.

Sterling Shepard (achilles) limited Wednesday.

There are 7 wide receivers here (not all of whom will be active) and we don't currently expect a large role for Shepard even if active.

Sterling Shepard (Achilles) plans on playing Week 1.

Sterling Shepard (Achilles) plans on playing Week 1.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard listed questionable for Sunday; QB Daniel Jones officially ruled out

Sterling Shepard has been listed questionable for Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys, while Daniel Jones has officially been ruled out. As expected, it will be another week of Mike Glennon leading the Giants offense as Daniel Jones is still dealing with a neck injury. Shepard also popped up on the injury report this week with a calf issue. If he were to be ruled out, Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton would be the top receiving options for the Giants with Kadarius Toney still on the COVID list. It remains difficult to roster any New York pass-catchers with Glennon at the helm, especially in a tough matchup against the Dallas defense.

NYG WR Kenny Golladay and WR Sterling Shepard both expected to play Sunday

Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard are both expected to play Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. As reported earlier in the week, both Shepard and Golladay have been trending in the right direction and should lead the Giants receiving corps this Sunday without Kadarius Toney. It is still difficult to trust either of them in DFS contests however, due to Mike Glennon getting the start at quarterback. Glennon struggled last weekend against the Miami Dolphins completing just 23 of 44 passes for 187 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.

NYG QB Daniel Jones and WR Kadarius Toney ruled out for Sunday; QB Mike Glennon, WR Kenny Golladay, and WR Sterling Shepard listed questionable

Daniel Jones and Kadarius Toney have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers, while Mike Glennon, Kenny Golladay, and Sterling Shepard have been listed questionable. As expected, Daniel Jones and Kadarius Toney will both be unavailable this weekend. Most Giant beat writers believe that all players listed questionable have been trending in the right direction and will be able to suit up this weekend. With Toney out, it will likely be Golladay, Shepard, and Darius Slayton leading the receiving corps though none seem like very attractive options with Mike Glennon expected to be at the helm. UPDATE: Mike Glennon has cleared the concussion protocol and will start Sunday.

NYG WR Kenny Golladay and WR Kadarius Toney DNP Wednesday; WR Sterling Shepard returned to practice

Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney both logged DNPs Wednesday while Sterling Shepard returned to practice ahead of the Giants matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Golladay suffered a rib injury in last week's game and Toney is still dealing with an oblique injury so their status for this weekend is highly questionable. Shepard seems to be close to returning after logging a practice last week and starting this week with a practice. If Shepard were to be available and Toney and Golladay were to be ruled out, Shepard and Slayton would lead the Giants receiving corps with Evan Engram expected to be involved in the passing game as well. It is worth noting that Mike Glennon is expected to start again this weekend after a dismal outing last week, severely hurting the expected production of all Giants pass-catchers. Even if the receiving corps are thin it is still not advised to play any members of the Giants offense with Glennon at the helm.

NYG WR Kadarius Toney and WR Sterling Shepard inactive Sunday

As expected after being listed as doubtful on the injury report, Kadarius Toney and Sterling Shepard have been listed inactive for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. With Shepard and Toney out it will be another week of Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton leading the receiving corps though with a downgrade throwing them passes at quarterback in Mike Glennon. Golladay and Slayton should see plenty of targets in a game that the Giants are expected to be trailing but the quality of those targets is very questionable. it will likely be best to avoid all pieces of the Giants offense this week.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard and WR Kadarius Toney listed doubtful for Sunday; NYG TE Kyle Rudolph, WR John Ross, and FB Cullen Gillaspia listed questionable; TE Kaden Smith listed out

Sterling Shepard and Kadarius Toney have been listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins while Kyle Rudolph, John Ross, and Cullen Gillaspia have been listed questionable. With Shepard and Toney likely out it will be another week of Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton leading the receiving corps. Kyle Rudolph seems to be trending towards a return and should reclaim his role as the number two tight end behind Evan Engram. Kaden Smith is set to be placed on IR meaning the third tight end spot should be played by Chris Myarick who does not figure to be DFS relevant at this point.

NYG WR Sterling Shepard and TE Kyle Rudolph upgraded to limited practice Thursday; WR Kadarius Toney, WR John Ross, TE Kaden Smith and FB Cullen Gillaspia DNP

Sterling Shepard and Kyle Rudolph both were upgraded to limited practices on Thursday while Kadarius Toney, John Ross, Kaden Smith and Cullen Gillaspia all logged their second DNP of the week. This was a good sign for both Shepard and Rudolph who both seem to be trending in the right direction for Sunday's matchup with the Miami Dolphins. With Toney and Ross both trending in the wrong direction it could mean another heavy workload for Kenny Golladay, Shepard (if available), and Darius Slayton. If Rudolph is back he would back up Evan Engram and Smith's status would be irrelevant for DFS. Rudolph's return would cut into Engram's workload and would make him much less appealing to play in DFS contests.
