Teuvo Teravainen Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

This second line is an intriguing cheap option tonight

Over the last 10 games, it has been Teuvo Teravainen leading the way in points for the Carolina Hurricanes. His 12 points — 11 of them being assists — has been a bit of a relief off of the shoulders of Sebastian Aho who has been carrying the load for the most part. Teravainen has been playing with the returning Jordal Staal and rookie Andrei Svechnikov over the last 10 games since Staal's return. Teravainen is playing on the top power play unit while Staal and Svech play on the second unit which is a bit discouraging but this line is still a solid even strength line worth stacking.

This line has an elite possession mismatch tonight.

Carolina has really slowed down with their possession numbers as of late, not even landing in the top 10 since the Christmas break. As a result, they have dropped to second in the NHL this season with a 55.08 CF%, with the San Jose Sharks passing them. That's okay, though, as they take on the Ottawa Senators who are dead last on the season with a 44.03 CF% and 26th since the break with a 46.89 CF%. The Hurricanes on home ice are in a great spot and we are looking at the top line comprised of Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen and Michael Ferland — an upcoming UFA that is coming up in a lot of trade talks. All three of these players have at least 9 points in the 11 games since the break. Additionally they all play on the top power play unit together so a full-line stack is an elite play with full-game correlation.

This centre has a great matchup despite playing on a back to back.

The Carolina Hurricanes continue to lead the league in possession and are doing so with a 55.31 CF%. Additionally, their CF/60 of 67.18 is also atop the NHL. The Buffalo Sabres are sitting average to below average in this and going on the road to Carolina doesn't bode well. However, Carolina is on the tail-end of a back to back so that is a bit concerning but with how dominant they have been from a possession stand point, it shouldn't be an issue. Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen and Brock McGinn are playing on the top line and with Aho and Teravainen playing on the top power play unit together, they make for a great two-man stack if you don't want to roster McGinn.

After a down November, this centre is back to his early-season level of play.

Sebastian Aho struggled a bit in November after coming out of the gate firing with 17 points in 12 games. With 9 points in 13 November games he has 19 points in 16 NHL games since December 1st. He's centering the top line with Teuvo Teravainen and Brock McGinn, which is one great winger and one weaker winger. Teravainen is on the top power play unit with Aho which makes for a great mini-stack as McGinn doesn't see much, if any, time on the power play.

Affordable Duo with Plenty of Upside

Despite leading the league in shots per game, the Hurricanes have struggled to put the puck in the net this year, as they rank in the bottom 5 in goals per game. The lack of offense hasn't been due to the dynamic duo of Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen. They have combined for 59 points in 64 games. At home, they've been even better, with 39 points in 34 games. Tonight, they face a Detroit team allowing 35 shots per game on the road. Carolina should be able to dictate the tempo of the game and force plenty of shots on net, with a few of them finding their way in to light the lamp.

The Carolina Hurricanes lead the league in possession and face a familiar face tonight.

The Carolina Hurricanes are leading the NHL in possession with a 60.29 CF% — an absolutely elite number. They are hosting the Chicago Blackhawks tonight whom also have a solid possession number with a 52.42 CF% — the eighth best mark in the league. Cam Ward is likely to play for the Blackhawks tonight, a familiar face for the Hurricanes as he played 13 seasons for their organization. This isn't an easy matchup by any means for the Hurricanes, but they generate so many shots — 41.8 per game — but they haven't been scoring much as their 2.71 goals per game sit tied for just 25th. We're hoping that changes tonight and this full-line stack has elite upside as the trio remain together on the top power play unit for full-game correlation.

This Line Leads The League In High Danger Scoring Chances

The Carolina Hurricanes host the Detroit Red Wings tonight. Detroit is playing their second game in as many nights. Carolina ranks first in shots on goal per game (41.1), high danger scoring chances for, and hold the NHL’s best xGF/60 (3.3). We seen them break through against Chicago the other night, and I expect Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen, and Michael Ferland to continue dominating puck possession, and create high danger scoring chances in this matchup. Detroit ranks fourth in GA/60(2.93). We expect to see career back up goalie Jonathan Bernier in net, giving Carolina another bump. Aho, Teravainen, and Ferland all skate on the team’s top power-play unit, and Justin Faulk is the blue liner you want as an addition, as he currently sees the most ice time on the first power play unit.

This elite possession team cannot seem to put the puck in the net.

The Carolina Hurricanes are the best possession team in the NHL, sporting a sparkling 61.35 CF%. Tonight, they're taking on another strong possession team in the Chicago Blackhawks — a team with a 51.50 CF%. Carolina is consistently a strong possession team and they've also been producing an elite amount of high-danger opportunities with a 60.71 HDCF%. The top line of Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen and Michael Ferland is what you want to look at tonight. They are getting up there in price, but as long as they're putting up shots like they have been, it's tough to ignore their elite upside.

As always, the Carolina Hurricanes are one of the best possession teams in the NHL.

The two best possession teams in the NHL face-off against one another this evening as the San Jose Sharks (61.10 CF%) visit the Carolina Hurricanes (61.09 CF%). With Carolina as the home team, we're going to look there for our offence and the top line of Sebastian Aho, Teuvo Teravainen and Michael Ferland are a top line in the NHL with a 57.28 CF% — though they are the third-best on their team in that regard. Aho and Ferland stick together on the top power play unit while Teravainen is relegated to the second. However, the full-line stack is definitely in play and although Ferland was looked at as a third-wheel in Calgary is been fantastic on this line and shouldn't be excluded on your stack.

This Carolina Hurricanes centre is off to a hot start.

With three goals and four points along with eight shots in his first three games, Sebastian Aho is off to a hot start to the season. He's expected to play alongside Teuvo Teravainen and Michael Ferland on the Carolina Hurricanes top line this evening as they host the Vancouver Canucks. Aho makes for a great mini-stack play along with Teravainen as the two of them also remain together on the top power play unit. The Hurricanes have taken 40.3 shots per game in their first three which is encouraging as the Canucks have allowed 36 shots against per game on average in their first two.
