Torey Krug Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Look for this stack to build off their last game
Patrice Bergereon, Brad Marchand, and Danton Heinen will likely be the chalk stack of the day, but for good reason. Ottawa has given up a ton of scoring chances in the past month (13.78/60). Heinen also saw top power-play minute's last game with DeBrusk missing last game. This may be the case again tonight with DeBrusk’s availability up in the air. Torey Krug makes a great addition as a four-man stack, as he quarterbacks the team’s top power-play unit.
This line should dominate from puck drop
Boston’s top line has come alive again the past two games, posting a combined three goals, six assists and 16 shots on goal. Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and Danton Heinen will host New Jersey tonight, who is playing on the tail end of a back to back. The Devils gave up six goals last night to Philadelphia, and I expect that to carry over into tonight. The Devil’s have been plagued by injuries all season, and last night they added Kurtis Gabriel and Nathan Bastian to the list as they left the game early. Boston’s top line should have no problem controlling the game against New Jersey’s AHL like roster. Torey Krug is the power play defenseman you want to target with this stack.
Great matchup for this stack against struggling road team
Patrice Bergereon, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak draw a great matchup tonight against the New York Rangers. This line has as much upside as any line in the league every single night. The Rangers have allowed 14.44 HDCA/60 since the first of the year. That is the most HDCA/60 for road teams on tonight’s slate. Torey Krug is the power-play quarterback you want to pair this stack with if you’re adding a defenseman.
This line should dominate from puck drop
Patrice Bergereon, Brad Marchand, and David Pastrnak posted six combined points the other night, and I expect more of the same tonight. Buffalo has been struggling and their superstar center Jack Eichel will miss tonight’s game due to injury. This trio may be a bit chalky, but with their elite upside, this is a stack I will not be fading tonight. Stacking all three of these guys is difficult, but being creative with your builds can give you an edge in tournaments. Using two of the three forwards along with power-play quarterback defenseman Torey Krug is another stacking option.
The Boston Bruins are still looking to win the East
There is still a chance for the Boston Bruins to win the Eastern Conference so they will be going all out to end the season. Tonight they host the Ottawa Senators, a team that has had their season over for a long time now. Torey Krug has been on fire lately, picking up the most points among defensemen since March 1st. In that time frame he has picked up four goals and 19 points in 17 games. Tonight should be no different and for a d-man that quarterback's the Bruins top power play unit, he should be able to get on the scoresheet.
Moderately Priced Line Stack With Sneaky Upside
If you're looking for value tonight, consider taking the second line of Boston which features David Krejci, Rick Nash, and Danton Heinen. A point per game player at home this year, Krejci and his linemates aren't required to play the "tough" minutes against the opposition's top scoring threats and are among the league leaders in offensive zone faceoffs and scoring chances generated on home ice. Also seeing time on the league's sixth ranked power play, look for Boston's second line to be very active on the man advantage tonight against a Columbus penalty kill that ranks 23rd in the NHL and will be without their best defenseman in Seth Jones tonight.
This offensive defenseman has been crushing it lately
Torey Krug has been fantastic for the Boston Bruins this season. He's been playing even better lately, picking up three goals and 11 points over his last 10 games while averaging 3.2 shots per game. The Bruins host the Chicago Blackhawks in the first game of a home-and-home series. The Blackhawks are in shambles this season and are going to miss the playoffs, which seems crazy given how elite they have been in the past decade or so. No goalie is confirmed for this game yet for Chicago, but that is okay. Both goalies are pretty weak and Krug should be able to get on the scoresheet as the Bruins should be able to score in bunches.
Don't Sleep On This Loaded Top Line
Anytime you can get a line as talented as Boston's top line at a lower than expected ownership percentage, it creates a great opportunity to leap the field in a GPP. After burning many that rostered them last night, I'm expecting Boston's top line which features Bergeron, Marchand, and Pastrnak to fly under the radar in tournaments tonight. A matchup against a potent Washington team may seem risky, but Washington has allowed the most scoring chances and the third most shot attempts on tonight's slate. Also featured on Boston's top power play unit, this trio should be very busy on the man advantage tonight against an undisciplined Capitals team that takes too many penalties for their own good and ranks in the bottom third in penalty kill percentage this season.
Multi-Point Potential on the Blue Line
For my top defenseman on tonights 10-game slate, we head to the TD Garden. The Winnipeg Jets undisciplined style of play puts the Boston Bruins offensive defenseman in a prime spot tonight. The Jets continue to be one of the National Hockey Leagues most penalized teams (fourth-most minor penalties), and their penalty kill still needs plenty of work (20th ranked PK). The Jets have also been quite leaky with their defensive game of late, and that bodes well for Torey Krug and the Bruins offense this evening. Krug should easily find his way into to the score sheet tonight and I would not be surprised to see have him a multi-point game.
Second Line Value
If you're looking for value from a line stack tonight, consider taking Boston's second line which features David Krejci, Anders Bjork, and Jake DeBrusk. With eight points in his first five home games this season, Krejci and the second line draw a juicy matchup against the league's worst team in Arizona who have allowed the second most shot attempts and scoring chances on the road this season. Not required to play the "tough" minutes against the opposition's top scoring threats, Krejci should have no problems paying off his reasonable salary with the amount of offensive zone faceoffs he receives on home ice.
