Cheap Stack Against Overrated Pitcher

While Martin Perez had a great start to the season, his performances over the past two months have come crashing down to earth with multiple walks, multiple home runs, and a sub-20% K rate. I know the Tigers are a putrid offense, but they're not nearly as atrocious against left handed pitching. You can make a 5-man stack for as little as $16.7k on DraftKings that fills a catcher and infield spots, which will then allow you to pay up for stud SPs and three expensive one-off bats. On an 11-game slate with not all that many high totals this afternoon, the Tigers still have 4 runs implied, and should have quite low ownership for a viable route to go in large-field GPPs at their price.

Uncomfortable GPP Stack

You might look at me oddly with me suggesting a Tigers stack tonight, but at least hear out the argument. Detroit has an implied team total of five full runs, which is VERY high for them. They get a matchup with a bad pitcher as well, and the price tags on the Detroit bats are affordable. If you are playing on a multi-pitcher site, you can stack up the Tigers with two stud arms. If you are playing on a single pitcher site, you can get a stud arm and some other elite bats around them. I almost never stack this team up, but I'll YOLO some GPP shares on this short slate, with Castro and Demeritte as my favorite values.

Cheap Leverage Stack In The Texas Heat

Adrian Sampson could easily get into trouble tonight in Texas with his 48.1% hard hits, 40.6% fly balls at only an 18% strikeout rate. While the Tigers are one of the worst hitting teams in the MLB, the ballpark upgrade, weather and matchup could mitigate this fact at bargain basement prices. Playing any of their bats as a one-off as a punt to get up to great 10k pitching options is absolutely viable in any format. But with Sampson potentially garnering ownership as an SP2 on DraftKings, a cheap 5-man stack at under $18.5k combined salary could provide ample leverage in large-field GPPs.
