For those looking for some extreme value, Tyler Duncan is a guy I’ve been targeting a bit the past few weeks. While he is far from a lock, he provides about as much “safety” as you’re going to get below $6500. He is 4/4 on made cuts since the restart, gaining strokes tee to green in each showing. At this price, a made cut is just about all you are looking for, and his true value is in opening up some salary to jam in the higher priced studs. This strategy is particularly viable on FanDuel, but can pay off on DraftKings as well, ala Chase Seiffert last week. No one will be playing him, so you can throw him into a chalky build and almost guarantee that your lineup will be unique.

If we want to play Bryson this week, we are going to have to find some value somewhere. Tyler Duncan is not someone I have played a ton in the past, but his short term form right now is difficult to ignore. Since the return of PGA, he has gained 4.7, 7.8, and 5.1 strokes on approach, which is always a key statistic for me as I select my golfers. His short game and putting can be an absolute nightmare, but as long as he can keep it reasonable around the greens, he brings upside to the table for a value-priced play. He is one of the few guys that saw only a marginal price increase despite the significantly weaker field compared to the last three events. I don't expect him to soak up a ton of ownership, so I am considering him a viable play in all formats for lineups where you are looking for some much-needed salary relief.

Duncan is one of the worst putters in the field. Let me get that out of the way early, so that you are prepared for a lot of short misses on Shot Tracker. With that said, he also leads the field in strokes gained approach, so maybe he’ll just hit the ball close enough to where we don’t have to sweat those putts. We rarely see one of the best ball strikers in the field priced this low. Granted, most of Duncan’s success this season has come in weaker events, but that’s not really a knock on him this week. He’s going to give himself plenty of birdie looks this week, it will come down to whether or not he can capitalize on them.
