Tyler Johnson Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Lineup update: Nets will start Tyler Johnson, Shamet, Durant, Harris and Green Thursday
Tyler Johnson will get the start at point guard, making him one of the top values on the slate tonight. Also, Green will get the start as a small-ball center again, and will likely play 30 minutes or so in a competitive game.
Kevin Durant (thigh) and Tyler Johnson (knee) available to play Sunday
As expected, KD and Johnson were both upgraded from probable to available and will play against the Phoenix Suns. Durant missed three games with a thigh contusion, while Johnson was out for 10 games due to a knee injury. It'll be interesting to see how many minutes Durant plays in his first game back; the Nets have been very cautious with their stars after returning from injury. He should start, while Landry Shamet likely moves to the bench. Durant should lead the team in usage, while Kyrie Irving takes a big step back, as well as the Nets other peripheral players; Joe Harris, Shamet, and Jeff Green will all lose some value as well. As for Johnson, he'll likely come off the bench and possibly play a few minutes in the teens; there's a chance he doesn't play in favor of Mike James, who was recently signed to a 10-day contract.
Kevin Durant (thigh), Tyler Johnson (knee), and Alize Johnson (protocols) ruled out Friday
The Nets will be without KD once again as they prepare to to take on the Boston Celtics. Durant was downgraded from questionable with a thigh contusion to out, and will miss his third straight game as a result. Tyler Johnson was downgraded from doubtful to out with his knee injury, while Alize Johnson was ruled out due to the health and safety protocols. This should lead to a more condensed frontcourt, as Nic Claxton remains out due to the protocols as well. With no KD and still no James Harden, this will likely be the Kyrie show yet again. Irving averages 1.49 FPM with Harden, Durant, and the traded Caris LeVert off the floor per CourtIQ, up from his average of 1.31 FPM. Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan both show boosts up as well, and should be in line to play good minutes with the Nets frontcourt depleted. In the backcourt, it should be plenty of Joe Harris and Landry Shamet, with Bruce Brown chipping as well. Overall, Kyrie is certainly the best play of the team and will be one of the best on the slate.
Kevin Durant (hamstring), Blake Griffin (knee), Tyler Johnson (knee), and Landry Shamet (ankle) ruled out Monday; James Harden (hamstring) available
The Nets will play the second half of a back-to-back without some key pieces, but will get one major one back as they take on the New York Knicks. Harden will be available to make his return to the lineup after missing two games with a hamstring injury. Griffin will be rested on the second half of a back-to-back, while Johnson and Shamet each picked up their injuries in yesterday's game against the Bulls. Durant is ramping up and may be able to make his return Wednesday, but is out today. With Harden coming back, Kyrie Irving will go more into his usual scoring role while Harden helps facilitate the offense. It will be Harden's first game with LaMarcus Aldridge as the starting center, so it'll be interesting to see how much usage he gets after averaging 30 fantasy points in his first two games with Brooklyn. With Johnson and Shamet out, Bruce Brown may shift to the bench to play guard minutes, while Jeff Green moves to the starting lineup in place of Griffin who started last game. With no Durant or Blake Griffin off the court, Harden has averaged 1.50 FPM per CourtIQ, while Irving has averaged 1.33 FPM. Those two should lead the way for the Nets, along with Aldridge and Joe Harris. Johnson, Griffin, and Shamet don't produce much, but their injuries will open up a few extra minutes for the Nets stars.
Tyler Johnson (migraine) questionable Saturday
Johnson was a late add to the injury report Saturday, as he is suffering from some migraine issues and is questionable to play against the Dallas Mavericks. The Nets are already shorthanded without Kyrie Irving, who was ruled out earlier due to a shoulder injury. If Johnson were to miss, the Nets would be very thing at the guard positions. Landry Shamet would likely get some more playing time, and possibly the start as coach Nash has yet to decide his starting lineup. Chris Chiozza would be in line for some minutes at the guard position off the bench, while Iman Shumpert and Andre Roberson may be thrust into action after signing ten day contracts yesterday. Johnson's absence likely increases Harden's necessity for handling the ball even more.
Tyler Johnson (abductor) ruled out Sunday; Nic Claxton (knee) listed available Sunday
Johnson was ruled out due to a tight left abductor, and will miss the game tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers. Claxton is available to make his season debut however, as he has previously missed time due to a right knee injury. Johnson only played eight minutes in the Nets last game, and with Kyrie Irving and James Harden both healthy, the guard minutes are few and far between. Landry Shamet and Bruce Brown may pick up a few minutes in his absence. Claxton likely won't get too many minutes as a big man on a Brooklyn team that likes to play small, but he may carve out a role as spot minutes at center depending on the matchup.
Value City
While i'm writing this post in regards to Tyler Johnson I want to point out that this entire Nets team on FD won't have any players in the game over 4k. Additionally almost every player has at least a 20% usage rate, and is averaging at least a fpt per minute. This is an incredibly tough matchup, but at these prices and these rates, a few players should hit 30 fantasy points. I think Tyler Johnson is one of those players.
Ricky Rubio (ankle) probable Monday; Tyler Johnson (knee) and Ty Jerome (calf) ruled out
Rubio has officially been listed as probable on the Suns' injury report for Monday's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets due to a sore right ankle that forced him to miss one game, while Jerome and Johnson will join Dario Saric, Cameron Johnson, Aron Baynes, and Frank Kaminsky on the inactive list for tonight's contest. In Rubio's absence, Elie Okobo ended up receiving the start at point guard, but he was absolutely atrocious for fantasy purposes in just over 26 minutes of action, whereas, Jevon Carter was much more effective in his 27 minutes off the bench in Sunday's blowout loss. However, Devin Booker has actually benefitted the most with Saric, Baynes, and Kaminsky off the court this season, as he owns a 31.9% usage rate, a 35.2% assist rate, and is averaging 1.42 DraftKings and 1.34 FanDuel points per minute in a 308.1 minutes sample size.
Cam Johnson (hip) and Tyler Johnson (illness) officially out Tuesday
As expected, Cam Johnson and Tyler Johnson won’t play in Tuesday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, while Devin Booker was already ruled out of tonight’s second leg of a back-to-back set with a right forearm contusion. Additionally, Deandre Ayton will return from his 25-game suspension, which should help compensate for the absence of Cam Johnson since Frank Kaminsky will now be able to spend most of his time as the backup power forward. In Booker’s absence, Mikal Bridges should start alongside Kelly Oubre on the wing once again, and he has been great fantasy purposes in an average of 31.4 minutes over the last two games. Other than Bridges’ increased workload, the main beneficiary with Booker off the court has easily been Ricky Rubio, as he owns a 26.3% usage rate, a 45.6% assist rate, and is averaging 1.20 DraftKings and 1.15 FanDuel points per minute in a 195.6 minutes sample size.
Devin Booker (forearm), Cam Johnson (hip), and Tyler Johnson (illness) doubtful Tuesday; Dario Saric (back) probable
Booker, Cam Johnson, and Tyler Johnson are all listed as doubtful for Tuesday's matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, while Dario Saric is probable for tonight's second leg of a back-to-back set with a sore lower back. Additionally, Deandre Ayton is expected to return from his 25-game suspension, which should help compensate for the absence of Cam Johnson since Frank Kaminsky will now be able to spend most of his time as the backup power forward. In Booker's absence, Mikal Bridges should start alongside Kelly Oubre on the wing once again, and he has been great fantasy purposes in an average of 31.4 minutes over the last two games.
