Tyrone Wallace Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections
Increased Role Tonight
With the Clippers officially out of the playoff race, it sounds like there will be some guys sitting tonight. Lou Williams is doubtful, Austin Rivers is questionable, Danilo Gallinari is out, and Milos Teodosic is out. With all of those guys off the floor, Wallace has a 23% usage rate and he's averaging .98 fantasy points per minute. With only a couple of games left, I'd expect the Clippers to play Wallace a lot and see if they want to bring him back next season. He has some nice upside here, and I think he has a 30 minute floor.
Minutes In A Tough Matchup
Wallace hasn't flashed a lot of upside since returning to the Clippers, but the minutes aren't going anywhere. With Milos and Evans out, Wallace should continue to play big minutes for the Clippers. With both of these teams needing a win, I would expect tight rotations from both teams tonight. Wallace has played at least 34 minutes in three straight games, and has over 20 fantasy points in each of those games. I love finding high minute value guys at this point of the season, and I'm going to trust someone like Wallace more than I'm going to trust someone playing for the Bulls.
Tyrone Wallace (two-way contract) ruled out Wednesday; C.J. Williams will play
Wallace has one NBA day remaining on his two-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers and has officially been sent to the G-League, effectively ruling him out for Wednesday's game against the Houston Rockets, while C.J. Williams has been recalled from the G-League and will play in tonight's contest on the final NBA day of his two-way contract. The Clippers will also be without Avery Bradley and Danilo Gallinari, the latter missing his third consecutive game with a bruised left hand, which should enable Wesley Johnson to start at small forward once again. Wallace had started the last two games at shooting guard in place of Bradley and averaged nearly 34 minutes per game in those starts, so Williams is likely to see at least some run in the Clippers wing rotation, even if he comes off the bench, which appears likelier than not with Milos Teodosic being the leading candidate to start at point guard, a move that would slide Austin Rivers over to the shooting guard spot. That said, either way, Rivers, Teodosic, and Lou Williams should be expected to handle a large majority of the available guard and wing minutes in Wallace and Danilo Gallinari's absences.
For those who may not have received our last alert due to technical issues: Milos Teodosic - and not Tyrone Wallace - will start in place of Avery Bradley
Wallace was reportedly set to get the nod at SG, but Teodosic will draw the start instead at PG with Austin Rivers sliding over to SG. Teodosic is a viable punt play on the late-slate given his increased role and path to minutes with Bradley out, but Lou Williams is still very likely to be the most productive guard on the LAC side. All three options are in play, with Williams offering the highest upside and Rivers offering a solid ceiling considering his price.
A Steady Value Option
The Clippers are another team that is very thin right now, and Tyrone Wallace has continued to play heavy minutes even with Milos Teodosic back in the mix. He has logged over 30 minutes of court time on a consistent basis, and his DFS price tag remains cheap. Even though he won't have the highest usage, especially with Blake Griffin back, the cheap price and guaranteed minutes are hard to ignore. I'm willing to fire him up in what should be a fairly high scoring game against the Nuggets.
A Top Value on a Thursday
This is largely contingent on whether or not Milos Teodosic plays, but I will likely have plenty of Wallace in any case. The Clippers are woefully thin in the backcourt right now, and they lost C.J. Williams last night. Wallace responded with a 22/6/4 line in 34 minutes in a surprising win over the Warriors, and he has been playing well off the bench for the Clippers. Fire him up as a top value on this slate.
