Virgil Green Daily Fantasy News, Rankings, Projections

Chargers TE Hunter Henry (Knee) has a Good Chance to Play Tonight

Henry will likely see a gradual increase in snaps as he works his way back to 100%. Henry is viable for single-game and prime time contests, but he carries risk since we don't know how much he will be involved.

Justin Jackson Doubtful; Mike Williams, Travis Benjamin and Virgil Green Questionable

Jackson is doubtful for Week 5 and not as needed with Melvin Gordon returning. Williams, Benjamin and Green all missed last week and are questionable. The Chargers already lost Dontrelle Inman to the IR, so they might need to lean even more on Keenan Allen.

Mike Williams (Back), Travis Benjamin (Hip), Virgil Green (Groin) All Limited in Practice Wednesday

All three players missed last week, so the limited designation gives them all a chance to return for the next game. WR Dontrelle Inman just got hurt, so the Chargers will need the healthy bodies on offense.

Virgil Green Out, Travis Benjamin Doubtful Week 4

Benjamin is in for an increased workload if he ends up playing, as Mike Williams has already been ruled out. Dontrelle Inman should see a huge increase in targets if Benjamin is ruled out.

Mike Williams (Back), Travis Benjamin (Hip), Virgil Green (Groin) Do Not Practice Wednesday

All three Chargers played Week 3, so being held out of practice Wednesday could be partially related to rest and maintenance.

Chargers Sign TE Lance Kendricks

With the Chargers losing Hunter Henry for the season, they've signed veteran TE Lance Kendricks. The Chargers TE targets will be split between Virgil Green and Kenricks, with neither a strong DFS option.

Hunter Henry Suffered Tibia Plateau Fracture to Left Knee, Timetable Unknown

Hunter Henry has suffered a tibia plateau fracture to his left knee. No timetable has been announced for his return, so hopefully we can get an update soon. One positive note would be that Henry has not been placed on the IR yet, but this is a major injury. Virgil Green was the other TE to receive a target Week 1, catching his 1 target for 4 yards. Green is not a serious pass catching threat. Unless the Chargers bring in a new TE, expect more targets to shift to RB's and WR's.

Virgil Green and A.J. Derby OUT for Denver this week

Two of Denver's TE's will miss this week due to injury leaving Jeff Heuerman as the starting TE. He's not a viable option facing Eric Berry and the Chiefs defense.

Virgil Green not on injury report for Broncos today

He was close to playing last week and after not being listed on the team injury report, Green should return to action for the first time in over a month when the Broncos take on the Chargers this Thursday night. The Chargers rank 21st in TE DVOA but Green is probably best avoided in most DFS contests with the exception of perhaps some Monday-Thursday lineups.

Virgil Green has full practice Monday, expected to play Thursday

Green has been dealing with a calf injury that lead to him becoming a surprise scratch from Sunday's lineup. He was back to practice Monday and should be ready to start against the Chargers Thursday night. In the two games he's played this season he averaged 3.5 receptions for 37 yards and zero touchdowns. Even though he's missed three games, he remains tied for third on the team in receptions. Denver's quarterbacks simply haven't been using many passing game options outside of Sanders, Thomas, and Anderson. San Diego is allowing 9.3 receptions and 74.2 yards per game to opposing tight ends and Football Outsiders ranks them 20th in DVOA against the position. If Siemian (assuming he plays) starts looking for him, he could make some plays in a nice matchup.
