Wade Baldwin recalled from Grizzlies' NBA Development League affiliate

The Memphis Grizzlies announced today that the team has recalled Wade Baldwin from the Iowa Energy, its NBA Development League affiliate. Baldwin has appeared in 20 games for the Grizzlies and averaged 3.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in only 14.5 minutes per game. Baldwin will be the third-string point guard behind Mike Conley and Andrew Harrison, so he will likely need an injury or two to become a factor in the Memphis rotation.

Wade Baldwin sent to Grizzlies D-League affiliate

Wade Baldwin has been sent to Iowa D-League team and Toney Douglas was cut earlier today. This could mean that the return of Mike Conley is imminent. We posted earlier in the day that it was possible Conley would be back. Look for another update tomorrow before the Grizzlies face the Kings.

Toney Douglas will play against the Pelicans tonight

Toney Douglas is expected to play tonight against his former team. They directly hurts the value of Andrew Harrison and Wade Baldwin, making them both extremely volatile options. Harrison is likely overpriced and it's possible that Baldwin will gain ownership after his strong game. Both players can still play well, but are extremely risky plays due to the playing time expected by Douglas.

Jarrell Martin and Wade Baldwin will both play tonight

Jarrell Martin (foot) and Wade Baldwin (quad) both saw minutes in the low to mid 20s during Tuesday night's game against Minnesota. This was largely due to the fact that Mike Conley and Marc Gasol were both held out as it was the first leg of a back-to-back for Memphis. Both players will come off the bench tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans.

JaMychal Green, Wade Baldwin, Andrew Harrison, and Jarell Martin all WILL play tonight

The Grizzlies strangely listed Green, Baldwin, Harrison, and Martin as questionable earlier in the day, and now they all are confirmed as active for tonight's games versus Washington. This is a difficult situation to analyze with all the lineup fluctuation, but our best targets probably lie in Zach Randolph and Jarell Martin with their affordable price tags around the industry. Marc Gasol will have his minutes closely monitored this evening, opening up some extra opportunity and usage in the Grizzlies' frontcourt. In addition, Tony Allen has been ruled out, as was expected.

Wade Baldwin, JaMychal Green, Andrew Harrison, and Jarell Martin all questionable for tonight

Baldwin, Green, Harrison, and Martin are all listed as questionable for tonight's matchup with Washington, along with Tony Allen, who is expected to make his season debut on Wednesday. Mike Conley and Marc Gasol will continue to have their minutes monitored this evening, but since Conley sat all but six minutes of the first half on Saturday, we should expect Gasol to follow suit tonight. If Green and Martin end up being inactive for this game, Zach Randolph should enter the starting lineup due solely to the lack of available options.

Tony Allen (knee) officially ruled out tonight

Allen will miss tonight's game against New York, as was ultimately expected, with a knee injury that dates back to training camp. With the news that Mike Conley and Marc Gasol are on a tighter minute restriction for this weekend's back-to-back set, and with Allen unavailable, Andrew Harrison will likely start at shooting guard, after playing a massive 38 minutes Wednesday, while Wade Baldwin has firmly supplanted himself into cash game consideration after posting an outstanding fantasy outing in the Grizzlies' season opener. Given how well Baldwin performed in the opener, it would not be surprising to see him cut into some of Harrison's playing time.

Wade Baldwin tells reporters he will play tonight

Baldwin is officially listed as questionable with a sore knee, but he confirmed with reporters that he will be good to go for tonight's matchup with New York. With Tony Allen also questionable, and Mike Conley and Marc Gasol on tight minute restrictions heading into the weekend's back-to-back set, Andrew Harrison will likely start at shooting guard if Allen is ruled out. Harrison played 38 minutes in the season opener, to lead the Grizzlies, but was largely ineffective. It's unclear if Baldwin will also carry a minute restriction, but it will be difficult to fade Baldwin in cash at his price around the industry if there's no reported minutes restriction before lock and Allen is indeed ruled out for a second consecutive game, as we expect.

Wade Baldwin (knee) questionable for Saturday

Baldwin has been added to the Grizzlies injury report and is now considered questionable for tomorrow's game against New York. If Baldwin is unable to go, Andrew Harrison will likely remain the starting shooting guard with Vince Carter, Troy Williams, and Troy Daniels splitting the rest of the backcourt minutes. Carter played 28 minutes in the Grizzlies' season opener, while Williams and Daniels did not play as coach's decisions. This is a situation to monitor closely, as Mike Conley and Marc Gasol are already on a minute restriction so there could be plenty of minutes and added usage to go around.
