Move to top line for highly productive Penguin

The Penguins are flying high at the moment with eight wins in their last nine contests. After a six game point drought, Zach has picked up a point in each of his past two games, and a move to the top line with Sidney Crosby figures to pay dividends immediately. While Zach doesn't see the power play time of his teammates, Aston-Reese has performed admirably at even-strength. He is a cheap way to gain exposure to the red-hot Penguins. Henrik Lundqvist has been able to mask the Rangers' defensive woes, but containing three talented Penguins' lines could prove too much to handle.

**Edit @ 12:30 - Looks like Aston-Reese won't be back on the top line as Bryan Rust participated in the morning skate, though he is still a game time decision. Dominik Simon is another cheap Penguin that could be worthy in tournaments as he has 10 shots on goal in his last three games, and the prices of both Evgeni Malkin and Patric Hornqvist are affordable**

This struggling superstar looks to bounce back tonight.

Evgeni Malkin has just 1 goal and 5 points over his last 10 games with a home matchup against the Anaheim Ducks tonight. The Ducks have been saved by John Gibson for most of the season and are coming to Pittsburgh with an 8-2-0 record over their last 10 games. However, the Pens are scoring 3.41 goals per game which is the seventh-highest in the NHL and their 59.2 CF/60 is 8th best on the season. Their high-powered offence will hopefully overcome Gibson's greatness in net considering the Ducks have just a 45.72 CF% which is the third-worst in the NHL and their 62.19 CA/60 is second-worst.

Look for this line to stay hot against a struggling team

Evgeni Malkin, Phil Kessel, and Zach Aston-Reese will look to stay hot tonight in Pittsburgh after producing a combined five points last night. Pittsburgh is second in the league so far in the month of December in HDCF/60 (14.07). Aston-Reese coming in around minimum salary across the industry helps bring down the overall cost of this stack. It also looks like star defenseman Kris Letang will miss tonight’s game after sustaining a lower body injury in last nights contest. This should give Olli Maata an increased role and increased ice time at a near minimum price tag as well.

Baby Penguin eyes follow-up performance against the worst team

Those who took a chance on Zach Aston-Reese last night were rewarded with a massive performance. With the Penguins power play in the tank at the moment (0 for 9 over last four games), the Penguins have been forced to find goals at even-strength. Aston-Reese found a goal last night and put the nail in the coffin with his second goal of the night, an empty net goal assisted by Sidney Crosby. Reese is just $3,300 on DraftKings, and on FanDuel he checks in at $3,500 but is more of a fringe option given the softer pricing there. Look for Zach to see 15+ minutes with a good chance to easily pay off his salary against the Los Angeles Kings and their league-worst 24 points.

Extreme value alongside Sidney Crosby

After posting dominant offensive numbers during his senior season at Northeastern University (31 goals and 32 assists in just 38 games), Aston-Reese continued his success with the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins for the first half of the 2017-18 season. His fine play finally earned him a promotion to the big club after the All-Star break and he's looking ready to make an impact. He scored a pair of goals in Pittsburgh's win over Ottawa on Tuesday night and now appears slated to join Sidney Crosby on the Penguin's top forward line. Sitting at basically the minimum price on every DFS site, passing on Aston-Reese could be a costly mistake this evening.
