2017 DFS Rankings Review: September Edition

The Tournament Player of the Year race here at RotoGrinders is as close as you can get heading into the NFL season and the home stretch of determining who will walk home the winner of this coveted prize.

Awesemo continues to lead the way but he has less than a 1,000 point margin over ChipotleAddict and current #1 overall ranked Grinder (awesemo could pass him any day now) youdacao is not too far back in 3rd place. The top five remained the same with papagates and scout326 swapping places. Bric75 made a huge move, climbing 18 spots to #10. He had a huge golf weekend that saw three of his top four ever scores hit his rankings including wins in the $850K Thunderdome and $700K Club Pro (not to mention a top 10 finish in the Millionaire Maker).

Another big mover was none other than former top poker professional BRANDONADAMS, who jumped 17 spots into the top 25. He was joined in the top 25 by PetrGibbons (up 18 spots to #21) and IamPGM (up 26 spots to #23).

It was less than a month ago that we released the news that youdacao had passed saahilsud for the top overall spot in the Grinders rankings. He’s also managed to do the same in the Superheavyweight tier as Saahil dropped to #3 with Youda taking over for the top spot in this elite tier. Awesemo also passed Sud and is nipping on the heels of youdacao as he’s less than 10,000 points behind. Bric75 made his debut in this tier entering at #16 and he was easily the biggest mover of the past two months.

There was no change at the top of the Heavyweight tier as ocdobv continues to lead the way with a nearly 50K point lead over chess_is_ok, who is another 60K ahead of current third place player affihq (who moved up an impressive six spots). Ryanfour1637 enters the top 25 of the tier at #14 and was joined by big movers mavngoose (up 14 to #18) and boozinbuffalo (up 17 to #19) as the players making the biggest jumps.

The top four of the Middleweight tier remained unchanged with anilprao88 maintaining his place at the top over tomjk321 and RG contributor theseige. Darcmaniluk and Boweryomama both made their debut in the tier at #5 and #11 respectively while brwnja was the biggest riser of the group as he moved up to #7 from his previous #20 ranking.

There was no change at the top of the Welterweight tier as well as CZYX, Capri, and lozingitall held on to the top three positions. pjm11 (at #4), russelld07 (at #9) both made their debuts in the tier inside the top 10. Zoicen moved up 11 spots to #11 and was the biggest riser of the group outside of the new #25 TigerWoulds (nice name sir), who moved up a Tiger-esque 21 spots.

Kratom has spent the entire year with a substantial lead in the Flyweight tier but his play has moved him up to Bantamweight where he debuts as the new #1. He has a comfortable lead of nearly 30K over the previous #1 shipper21. There was a ton of significant movement in this tier with eight players moving up at least 10 spots. The biggest of this group was seth1374, who made the top 20 after improving 24 ranking places over the past two months.

With kratom vacating the premises of the Flyweight tier, it’s anyone’s game now and BBROCK is the new #1 with a slight lead over rdewji. rpaulsen518 moves into the top five after being #19 the last Rankings Review. Five others moved up at least 10 spots including HoldTheBaby, who entered the top 10 at #9 and beergirl007, whose 20 spot improvement had them at #21.
