We’re going to take a look back at 2020, with some amazing numbers and stats from the past year. But first, a message from our CEO Cal Spears.
A Message from CEO Cal Spears
At the end of a very difficult year I find myself reflecting on how fortunate we are that the sports leagues successfully pushed through extreme circumstances. Nine short months ago the NBA and NCAA suspended play abruptly. Six short months ago there was legit concern there would be no MLB or NFL season. Remarkably, here we are today about to close out an NFL regular season without a single game canceled.
The RG team and community showed incredible resilience throughout 2020 as well. The applications team worked around the clock to add eSports to LineupHQ as new games popped up in the DraftKings lobby. The Projections team woke up well before dawn to edit KBO projections. The community grinded new game types like Australian Rules Football and rallied for poker tourneys to help pass the long nights of no prime time sports.
We now see the light at the end of the tunnel and we’re ready to come out stronger than before. We’re up to over 335,000 RotoGrinders members, with over 12,000 in Discord. We’re committed to having the best tools, content, and team in the industry and we’re improving our product every day. We’re honored to have such a loyal and devoted group of people.

We were blowing up your phones with push notifications all year! Injury news, lineup changes, live shows, all sent to your mobile devices daily. This year brought us a new wrinkle, dealing with the dreaded Reserve/COVID-19 list designation. We miss the days where it was just Drew Brees (shoulder) instead of Every Single Denver QB (Reserve/COVID-19 list).

Nearly 1.5M views and over 13,886 days of watch time is pretty massive. Everybody was tuning in for GrindersLive and heading over to the Daily Fantasy Bar for Beermakersfan’s Six Packs. We also added Sports Card videos, NFL Pre-Lock shows and LineupHQ Strategy Sessions this year. More great video content to come!

The Discord community has rapidly grown recently, and there’s no better way to get direct access to our analysts. Blender, Meansy, Stevie, Notorious, they’re all in Discord talking shop and answering questions. Great to see that segment of our community getting bigger.

This is the number that matters most. We’re so grateful to have such an enormous number of members in our community, especially through the difficult times this year. Even without sports, we had each other.
