If looking to wager on the player prop market for 49ers vs. Bills, we have 3 prop leans to consider for Sunday!
49ers vs. Bills – NFL Player Props
- Christian McCaffrey Over/Under 30.5 Receiving Yards
- Josh Allen Over/Under 35.5 Rushing Yards
- Brock Purdy Over/Under 32.5 Yards Longest Completion
Christian McCaffrey OVER 30.5 Receiving Yards (-110, FanDuel)
In 3 games since returning to the field, Christian McCaffrey has posted 68 receiving yards against the Buccaneers, 27 receiving yards and the Seahawks, and 37 receiving yards and the Packers. Matchups against Seattle and Green Bay were both more difficult judging by DVOA than tonight’s matchup against the Bills, who enter play ranked 17th in DVOA against the position this fall. Buffalo will get All-Pro LB Matt Milano back this evening, which could boost their coverage abilities near the line of scrimmage, but there is also the potential that they ease Milano back into action after an extended absence. It’s also reasonable to expect McCaffrey could see an expanded workload as a pass catcher in the second half this evening if San Francisco ends up facing a negative game script. This is a very playable number.
Josh Allen OVER 35.5 Rushing Yards (-115, BetMGM)
Josh Allen has cleared this market number in 3 of Buffalo’s first 5 home games this season and could end up with a number of opportunities to run the football against San Francisco. Though the weather isn’t expected to have a massive influence on today’s game, sustained winds above 10 mph could result in a few more designed quarterback runs than we would see on a sunny day at Orchard Park. In Buffalo’s lone “windy” game this year, Allen ended the day with 9 rush attempts for 39 rushing yards against Arizona in Week 1. If we get a semi-competitive game script tonight, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Allen try to make some plays with his legs.
Brock Purdy UNDER 32.5 Yards Longest Completion (-135, DraftKings)
Brock Purdy has eclipsed this market number in all but 1 game in 2024, but there is good reason for this deflated line tonight – beyond the weather forecast. Buffalo’s defense is famous for running a high rate of 2-high coverages, which helps them limit big plays against them. Entering play in Week 13, the Bills have allowed fewer pass completions to go for 20+ yards than any other team in the NFL this season, and they have allowed only 2 pass completions to go for 40+ yards. San Francisco’s offense excels at creating yards after the catch, but this could end up being a worthwhile risk regardless given the matchup.
