MLB Daily Grind Down June 1st Night Games Part 2

The RotoGrinders MLB Grind Down article will give you an in-depth analysis into the MLB schedule. This article will break down the numbers for every single game and give you analysis on which trends you can exploit.
While matchups are a major factor in daily fantasy baseball, there are plenty of other factors to consider such as injuries, weather, and salaries. The analysis should point you in the right direction, but it is still up to you to decipher the information and make your own selections. No sport has more variance than baseball. The best choice is not always the right choice but following the trends will win you money over time. (any fp listed uses Fanduel’s scoring system)

Pitchers
- Home Jerome Williams 2.58 ERA on the year seems nice but let us not forget the he is a 4.15 career pitcher. His low K/9 totals should get a slight boost from the Astros but he is a bad selection because he has very little upside and the Astros are producing runs. He is an auto-selection in a multiple pitcher format but in a single pitcher format you are much better served by taking a more risky selection with higher upside. In Play
- Away Bud Norris just held this same LAA team to 1 ER in 8 IP. If you want a high risk/reward gamble tonight then he is your man. LAA is a much friendly park than HOU but LAA is much hotter now. They are batting .281 at home, .274 versus right-handers, and .262 over the last 7 days. The smart play is to avoid him but I think he has GPP upside. In Play
Batters
- Home LAA has been a little cold lately but Bud Norris is not a good road pitcher. Consider everyone playable but know that Norris is pitching well. I trust hot pitching over hot bats.
- Away Jason Castro has been hot producing 35.25 fp over the last week and is hitting very well against right-handed pitching. The Astros are scoring run so they could offer some value tonight if you are willing to gamble.
Toronto at San Diego

| Mark Buehrle – (2-3), 5.51 ERA, 6.18 K/9, 1.388 WHIP | Clayton Richard – (0-5), 8.35 ERA, 4.49 K/9, 1.931 WHIP | ||||||
| PvB | (14-52 H/AB) 0.269 BA-A, 9.62 K%, 0.712 OPS-A | PvB | (21-72 H/AB) 0.292 BA-A, 15.28 K%, 0.917 OPS-A | ||||
| ROAD | (0-2), 7.22 ERA, 5 HRA, 6 K/9, 1.5 WHIP | HOME | (0-2), 7.16 ERA, 2 HRA, 6.1 K/9, 2.204 WHIP | ||||

Las Vegas
- OU 8
- Favored TOR -130
Pitchers
- Home Robbie Erlin versus this right-hand hitting team seems to be recipe for disaster but he should be cheap and gets his fair share of Ks. TOR is batting .232 on the road, .247 versus left-handers, and .292 over the last 7 days. he splits are too great for me to ignore Avoid
- Away Mark Buehrle is an albatross to me. He could pitch very bad. He could also pitch well, not GPP winning well but well. I will never take him unless he is playing MIA but I am also hesitant to load against him. SDG is batting .246 at home, .231 versus left-handers and .223 over the last 7 days. He has an easy matchup so he is In Play
Batters
- Home I said Buerhle is in play but I could also see things swinging the other way consider all of MIA in play and as value for your rosters.
- Away Edwin Encarnacion has been hot and gets the righty lefty splits in his favor. The young pitcher could struggle so consider everyone in play.
