What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – STL -185
Pitcher Grind Down
STL – On paper, Adam Wainwright is a great option tonight against the Pirates, but there is just something about those Pirates that scares me. They always seem to grind out these tough wins against these good teams. Wainwright has given up at least 3 earned runs in 4 of his last 5 starts. I think if you are going to play a top ace tonight, Scherzer is the better option. Rating = 7
PIT – Charlie Morton is an average pitcher that struggles on the road. He is also a pitcher that gave up 10 hits and 5 earned runs to this same Cardinals team a few starts back. Rating = 3
Batter Grind Down
STL – Craig, Beltran, Holliday, and Freese all have pretty good numbers against Morton. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Cardinals have one of their offensive firework nights where they put up 6+ runs.
PIT – I’m not completely sold on Wainwright tonight, but I’m certainly not going to take any hitters against him.

What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 10.0
- Favored Team – COL -130
Pitcher Grind Down
COL – I don’t know a lot about Jeff Manship other than he has struggled in year’s past when he has gotten called up and Vegas doesn’t trust him one bit. Throw in the fact that he will be pitching in Coors Field and that is plenty enough for me to avoid him. Rating = 2
SD – Eric Stults is a good, young pitcher, but this is Coors Field that we are talking about, this isn’t Petco. The Rockies are very good at home and against left hand pitching. Expect this game to be a shootout. Rating = 1
Batter Grind Down
COL – Now this is the game that you want to take hitters from. All bats from both teams are in play here, but my favorites from the Rockies ahve to be Tulowitzki, Rosario, Cuddyer, and Fowler.
SD – I also think this is a great spot for the Padres. Check out their lineup when it comes out and try to find value. They are all in play.

BAL vs R | BAL BvP | ARI vs R | ARI BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.0
- Favored Team – BAL -112
Pitcher Grind Down
ARI – Randall Delgado is a pretty decent pitcher, but when he faces a very good Orioles offense in a very hitter friendly ballpark, it’s hard for me to recommend taking him. The high over/under is there for a reason. Much better options elsewhere. Rating = 4
BAL – Miguel Gonzalez has really had his struggles lately, he has given up 13 earned runs over his last 3 starts and now has to face the lefty killers named Goldschmidt and Hill. Rating = 3
Batter Grind Down
ARI – Paul Goldschmidt is always in play against lefties, especially average lefties. He has great power and if the price tag isn’t too high, should be taken with confidence. I also like Aaron Hill who has 10 hits in his last 5 games and a HR in each of his last 3.
BAL – Chris Davis looks to be in a great spot against the righty Delgado. I also like both Adam Jones and Manny Machado.

HOU vs R | HOU BvP | OAK vs R | OAK BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – OAK -255
Pitcher Grind Down
OAK – Colon is by far the biggest favorite of the day. While he may not have quite the upside as the top aces, if his price is in the middle range, I think you have to consider him a must play. The Astros strikeout more than any team in baseball and the A’s play some great ball at home. Rating = 9
HOU – Taking Astros pitchers is like trying to read the mind of a woman: pointless and will get you in big trouble. Jordan Lyles Rating = 2
Batter Grind Down
OAK – The A’s are always a tough team to predict, but Lyles has been really bad against both left and right hand bats. All A’s are in play, but picking the right ones has always been tough for me.
HOU – I don’t think anyone would read the analysis on the Astros bats even if I had written one.

NYM vs L | NYM BvP | LAD vs R | LAD BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 6.0
- Favored Team – LAD -120
Pitcher Grind Down
LAD – We have quite the mix of games tonight, I believe there are three with over/under’s that are less than 7 and two that are 10 or higher. Makes it easy, take the pitchers in the low over/under games and the hitters in the high over/under games. Hyun-Jin Ryu is a really solid option on multi-pitcher sites, but the opposing pitcher is Matt Harvey so he could fall short of a win. Rating = 8
NYM – Good pitching outweighs good hitting, for that reason I like Matt Harvey even though he faces a very tough Dodgers lineup. With Harvey, you may not get the win, but on multi-pitcher sites it may not be a bad idea to take both of the pitchers in this one. Rating = 8
Batter Grind Down
LAD/NYM – Lowest over/under I’ve seen in a long while, not much to love about the hitters.
