What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.5
- Favored Team – LAD -155
Pitcher Grind Down
MIA – Jacob Turner had a great start to the season, but has since cooled off a bit. His WHIP of 1.274 indicates that his ERA is a bit low for the way he has been pitching. I think this will catch up to him the rest of the season. I don’t like the matchup against the Dodgers tonight, even if it is in Marlins Park. Rating = 4
LAD – At first glance, Vegas has a lot more faith in Chris Capuano than I do, but sometimes that is telling. Looking a little closer, Capuano has actually been very good on the road this year with a 3.02 ERA. He has already faced this Marlins team once and really pitched well against them. Finally, the Marlins as a team are only batting .227 against lefties. Maybe Vegas knows what they are doing after all. Rating = 6
Batter Grind Down
MIA – Giancarlo Stanton is always in play against lefties, just make that an automatic rule. He has 2 HR’s in his last 3 games and has a good matchup tonight. The rest of the Marlins can be ignored.
LAD – Turner has been pretty good against both left and right handed bats this year, but if you are going to target any Dodgers players, I would recommend either Carl Crawford or Adrian Gonzalez, both fare well against righties.

ATL vs R | ATL BvP | NYM vs R | NYM BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 7.0
- Favored Team – ATL -150
Pitcher Grind Down
NYM – Zack Wheeler can no longer be ignored after his last 2 starts in which he only allowed 2 earned runs and racked up 16 K’s. He looks much more comfortable now and his strikeouts really make him an interesting play tonight. While the Braves have a good offense, Citi Field is a very pitcher friendly park. I think Wheeler is in play if his price isn’t too expensive. Rating = 5
ATL – Brandon Beachy is a pitcher that I just can’t seem to predict. Everything is pointing toward him having a great night tonight, he has a high K rate and is facing a weak Mets offense in the very pitcher friendly Citi Field. Yet something tells me he is going to struggle. That said, I’m trusting the numbers over my gut. Rating = 8
Batter Grind Down
NYM – The Mets lineup is not a very scary one and Beachy has been pitching well. If you want to take a shot on Daniel Murphy I wouldn’t blame you because he is good against right hand pitching, but other than that, I’m avoiding the Mets.
ATL – Wheeler’s struggles have come against lefties, he is allowing them to hit for a .272 batting average with an OPS of .873. That puts Jason Heyward, Brian McCann, and Freddie Freeman in play.

HOU vs L | HOU BvP | TEX vs R | TEX BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.0
- Favored Team – TEX -225
Pitcher Grind Down
TEX – Travis Blackley gets the best of both worlds tonight. He gets to face the Astros who strike out more than any team in baseball and he is pitching for the Rangers whose offense has been on fire lately. Two things you want from your pitcher: strikeouts and run support and Blackley should get both of those tonight. Rating = 7
HOU – Jarred Cosart has been great in his first 6 career starts. He has a 1.15 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. The downside with Cosart is that he has a low K rate and faces a red hot Rangers offense. Rating = 3
Batter Grind Down
TEX – When the Rangers are hot, all bats are in play. They are coming off of a 16 run performance last night and will look to have another outing like that tonight. Martin, Andrus, Kinsler, Beltre, and Pierzynski are all in play. I think Cosart has his first blowup.
HOU – Jose Altuve is the only Astros player I am going to think about taking tonight. He hits lefties well and is playing in a hitter friendly park. The rest of the team strikes out too much for me.

WSN vs L | WSN BvP | CHC vs R | CHC BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 9.0
- Favored Team – WAS -130
Pitcher Grind Down
CHC – When I saw the over/under for this game, I immediately figured that the wind was blowing out in Wrigley and that seems to be the case. Chris Rusin gets the start, but when that wind is blowing out, it’s better to be safe than sorry and just avoid the pitchers altogether. Rating = 3
WAS – Dan Haren has been pitching much better over the last month, but his biggest problem is giving up the long ball. Now he is facing the Cubs with the wind blowing out. Unless the wind changes direction, I wouldn’t risk taking Haren. Rating = 2
Batter Grind Down
CHC – HR alert, HR alert! Haren gives up plenty of HR’s and the wind is blowing out. Target Rizzo, Schierholtz, Navarro, and Murphy tonight.
WAS – The Nationals as a team are not good against lefties, but both Jayson Werth and Ian Desmond hit lefties well and both have good pop in their bats. I like them both tonight against Rusin.

STL vs R | STL BvP | MIL vs R | MIL BvP
What Vegas Says
- Over/Under Total Runs – 8.0
- Favored Team – STL -140
Pitcher Grind Down
MIL – Kyle Lohse, mr. consistent. He has a 3.17 ERA on the season with a 1.15 WHIP. I think you can expect more of the same tonight, the problem is that he may not get any run support and will likely get stuck with the loss if he allows any runs. Rating = 4
STL – Lance Lynn will be facing a very short handed Brewers lineup tonight and I’m a bit mixed on his fantasy value. On the one hand, the matchup is there, but on the other, Lynn has struggled on the road with a 4.88 ERA and he will be pitching in a hitter friendly Miller Park. I’m sure a lot of experts will recommend him, but I’m thinking it’s best to avoid him tonight. Rating = 5
Batter Grind Down
MIL – Aramis Ramirez hit a HR last night, maybe that can get him going. He has been very quiet since coming back from the DL. Also in play are Jean Segura and Nori Aoki, both hit righties well.
STL – BvP stat of the day: Carlos Beltran is 24/48 against Lohse with 4 HR’s and 6 doubles. I don’t pay attention to BvP very often, but a sample size this big is too good to ignore. Take Beltran tonight! Allen Craig is another guy that I am looking at for value tonight, his price has been dropping.
