Alabama vs. UConn PrizePicks Predictions Today

Tristen Newton More/Less Than 16.5 Points

Tristen Newton has only eclipsed this number twice in the tournament to date this year, but part of that can be attributed to the fact that UConn has yet to find itself in a particularly competitive game script. Newton is coming off of a game in which he scored only 5 points on 0-for-6 shooting against Illinois in the Elite 8. It was the first time that he’s scored fewer than 10 points in a game since February 10 and the first time he’s gone without a field goal since January 2. Following that game on January 2, he scored 17 points three days later against Butler. Newton is too talented to be kept down for long. It wouldn’t be surprising in the slightest to see him have a strong showing on Saturday night.

Cam Spencer More/Less Than 15.5 Points

Cam Spencer has been arguably UConn’s most reliable offensive weapon during the first four rounds of the NCAA Tournament. He’s scored at least 11 points in each game and as many as 18 points against San Diego State. Tonight, he gets as favorable of a matchup as possible, facing a very weak Alabama defense in a game that should feature a healthy number of possessions. Spencer is shooting 47.6% in his last four games, but hasn’t been pushed to play exorbitant minutes due to the fact that UConn has been blowing out their opponents on a regular basis. If Alabama can keep tonight’s contest competitive, Spencer could see more volume than we have seen of late.

Mark Sears More/Less Than 19.5 Points

Mark Sears has been sensational in recent weeks, scoring at least 22 points in 8 of his last 9 games. Perhaps most important from a betting perspective is his recent run of volume, with at least 13 shot attempts in 9 consecutive contests and 18+ field goal attempts in two of his four tournament games. Sears is likely to see a lot of attention from UConn’s defense this evening, but his willingness to play 40 minutes combined with his shot-making ability from all areas of the floor makes him worthy of consideration here.
