Astros vs. Braves Same Game Parlay Picks & World Series Prop Bets

Game 3 of the 2021 MLB World Series kicks off tonight in Atlanta at 8:09 p.m. eastern, with the Houston Astros and Atlanta Braves tied 1-1. The home-team Braves are favored at -121 on the moneyline, and +170 on the -1.5 run line. The over/under is set at 8.5. This game could go either way, but the only way I’ll be going this evening is with a Same Game Parlay on PointsBet.

For anyone living under a rock, a Same Game Parlay basically just means a parlay consisting of multiple correlated wagers from one specific game. It provides bettors with good options to bet a game—and piece together props into a parlay within that game—beyond just the standard spread, moneyline, and over/under totals.

Without further ado, let’s get right into our favorite Same Game Parlay props for Friday night’s World Series contest, and lock in a play to make some money!

World Series Prop Bets for Game 3

Player To Get a Hit: Freddie Freeman (-270)

There aren’t too many players as consistently reliable and clutch as 2020 NL MVP Freddie Freeman. The five-time All-Star first baseman has a lifetime average of .295, and in 2021 he led the NL in runs for the second consecutive season. He has recorded a hit in 25 of Atlanta’s 38 postseason games this October, and in five of the Braves’ last six games (he has eight hits total over those six games). Left-handed opponents average .279 against Garcia, so I think it will be another fruitful night for Freeman.

Player To Get Two Hits: Eddie Rosario (+195)

Now we’re getting really saucy! Like Freeman, Rosario is a lefty who has been scorching at the plate this postseason. The 30-year-old outfielder has logged multiple hits in five or Atlanta’s last seven contests, and he’s slashing .357/.400/.643 throughout the playoffs. Rosario is absolutely locked in, and should continue to rake this evening against Garcia and company. If you’re risk-averse, stay away from this one—but if you like a good risk-versus-reward prop, jump all over it.

Moneyline: Atlanta Braves -121

I’m big into the Braves this evening, as I like the pitching matchup of Ian Anderson vs. Luis Garcia, as well as the home-field advantage. I typically don’t throw moneylines into Same Game Parlays, but I see the Braves -121 as such a tremendous value, it’s impossible to resist. Atlanta has won six of the seven playoff games Anderson has started, and the one loss was by one run to the reigning-champion Dodgers. The Braves have collectively outscored opponents 30-17 in postseason games that Anderson has started. Contrast that with Garcia, who has gotten shelled in two of his four starts in the 2021 MLB Playoffs, and this looks like a no-brainer. The Astros have lost two of the four games in which Garcia has started this October, and the righty gave up five earned runs in each of those losses. The Braves should inflict some major damage this evening.

Moneyline Three Way First Five Innings: Atlanta Braves (+110)

Since we’ve already determined that we are pro-Atlanta in this game—and pinpointed Anderson as the most significant factor—why not double up moneylines to boost the potential payout? In this leg, we must select one of three moneylines after five full innings: the Braves +110, the Astros +125, or a draw (tie) at +490. I’m expecting the Braves to get out to an early lead, so the Braves +110 after five innings is a no-brainer. Anderson has surrendered just five earned runs in 30.2 innings this postseason, good for a 1.47 ERA. He has yet to allow more than two runs this October, unlike Garcia who has been rocked twice. Anderson has a career win-loss record of 10-4 in night games, with a batting average against of .204.

Pitcher Props: Ian Anderson To Record 5+ Strikeouts (+125)

Last but not least, our pitcher prop! Anderson has shown superb command since the home-stretch of the 2021 season, a major reason why Atlanta landed in its first World Series since 1999. The talented righty had three games in September with at least seven strikeouts, and he’s notched five strikeouts in four of his seven postseason tilts. He’s great in high-leverage situations, and he loves pitching at night. With Houston likely coming from behind and swinging for the fences, I like the chances of Anderson logging at least five punch-outs and sealing the deal on a victory on our Same Game Parlay.
