2023 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Weather Forecast and Projections

We’re teeing off for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this week, and it does look like the weather will have an impact.

As usual in my Golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps to soften and slow the course, meaning it helps as much as it hurts. With wind there’s no helpful side, it’s all negative impact, and the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try and highlight the timeframe with the lightest winds, the time with the strongest winds, and to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can use then use this to your advantage making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Weather Report & Forecast

Round 1 Weather Projection – Thursday, February 2nd

Calm early morning, winds increasing through the day. We should go from about 5mph winds in the early morning to 10-15mph winds (with stronger gusts) by the late afternoon and evening.

Round 2 Weather Projection – Friday, February 3rd

The ugliest weather period continues overnight Thursday into early Friday, and that includes a chance for some rain and some still breezy winds Friday morning. We’re likely looking at 10mph sustained winds with stronger gusts in the early morning, dipping to 5-10mph sustained winds for the late AM through afternoon.

Round 3 Weather Projection – Saturday, February 4th

Similar to Thursday with light winds early and breezy conditions by the late afternoon and early evening.

Round 4 Weather Projection – Sunday, February 5th

A chance for some showers, especially early. Winds around 10mph.

Overall AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Weather Forecast

As I mentioned in the intro, when it comes to finding a usable and predictable edge for PGA, wind matters a lot more than rain. In this case, we do have a “windier” timeframe later Thursday into early Friday which in theory would be best to avoid. Easier said than done however, as the condensed start times make for similar weather conditions across the various tee times. I don’t think there’s a very clear edge to be had here, but in theory earlier Thursday and later Friday should see slightly better conditions. Stay tuned to @KevinRothWx for the latest.
