2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Round 4 Weather

Article Image

The final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is downright ugly, and could be washed away entirely by heavy rain and high winds. If it gets booted to Monday, the weather still presents an issue. Here’s what to expect…

As usual in my golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps soften and slow the course, which helps as much as it hurts. With wind, there’s no helpful side; it’s all negative impact. And the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try and highlight the time frame with the lightest winds and the time frame with the strongest winds to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can then use this to your advantage when making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Weather Forecast

Sunday, February 4th

This is, hands down, the worst golfing weather I have ever seen during an event. We have a High Wind Warning as well as a Flood Watch issued all day, and I expect consistent heavy rain the majority of the day, along with winds between 30-40mph and winds gusting over 50mph (some models have it over 60mph). The heaviest of the rain and wind might taper off a bit in the very late afternoon, but it’s ugly all day long regardless. That, to me, does not sound like golfing weather, so I’m including a forecast for Monday in case things are moved.

Monday, February 5th

Monday is not a pretty day by any means, except by comparison to Sunday. We’re still likely going to deal with scattered showers throughout the day as well as some gusty winds. The winds however will be much lighter on Monday. There is still some model disagreement on the exact numbers, but we’re likely looking at sustained winds of 10-20mph and gusts up to 30 mph early, tapering off a bit in the afternoon.

AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Round 4 Weather Thoughts

There is no question that the weather is hideous… the question becomes whether or not there’s any way to take advantage of it. I think that would be tough to do with it being so ugly essentially all day. As a general rule, I think golfing later might be a hair better on both Sunday and Monday, though that is not at all a strong take or a pronounced advantage.
