What’s the implication behind Lesson 2, point 1 – know what teams are playing and who is at home? Is there data or inclination that shows away or home play better? Or at home, you may not play bottom of 9th if ahead?

There are a lot of ways that knowing which team is playing at home could be beneficial. Yes, the away team is guaranteed 9th inning at bats whereas the home team is not. Also, some ballparks can be considered hitters parks, where hitters tend to fare well (ex. Coors Field), and some parks are considered pitchers parks, where pitchers tend to do well. Some batters and pitchers have shown that they play better at their home ballpark as opposed to when they are away, but not all of them are that way.
