Bengals vs. Steelers NFL Player Props for Saturday, December 23
- Tanner Hudson OVER 27.5 Receiving Yards
- Najee Harris OVER 12.5 Rush Attempts
- Trenton Irwin OVER 14.5 Receiving Yards
Tanner Hudson OVER 27.5 Receiving Yards (-113), FanDuel
On Saturday, the Steelers will once again be without multiple key members of their defense, including linebackers Kwon Alexander and Cole Holcomb. Alexander ranked 17th of 78 players at his position in PFF’s coverage grade prior to landing on injured reserve, making him one of the better coverage linebackers in the NFL. In his absence, Pittsburgh has struggled mightily to defend tight ends, allowing at least 40 receiving yards to Hunter Henry, Trey McBride, David Njoku, and Luke Musgrave in consecutive games. Tanner Hudson has been a reliable target for quarterback Jake Browning since the latter took over for Joe Burrow. He figures to be plenty involved again in Week 16, especially considering the favorable nature of the matchup and the fact that Ja’Marr Chase, the Bengals leading receiver, will be in street clothes for this contest.
Najee Harris OVER 12.5 Rush Attempts (-138), FanDuel
Since Week 3, Najee Harris has recorded at least 12 rush attempts in 11 of his 12 games and at least 13 rush attempts in 8 of those 12 contests. Despite back-to-back inefficient performances on the ground, Harris figures to continue receiving a healthy workload in the Pittsburgh backfield. On Saturday, Harris has an extremely favorable matchup against a Bengals defense that finished Week 15 ranked 26th in DVOA after losing defensive tackle D.J. Reader to injury in the 1st quarter. Reader is one of the best run defenders in the NFL, and his absence figures to give Pittsburgh plenty of opportunities on the ground in this spot. Both Harris and Jaylen Warren could see double-digit carries against Cincinnati.
Trenton Irwin OVER 14.5 Receiving Yards (-113), FanDuel
Trenton Irwin might be one of the best bets on the board this weekend playing without Ja’Marr Chase on the field for the Bengals. Irwin has eclipsed this market number in all seven games this season in which he has recorded at least one reception. Irwin has barely seen the field in recent weeks with a healthy Chase and Tee Higgins back in the fray, but he should see at least 30 snaps on Saturday with Chase ruled out, which should be more than enough plays for him to see at least one or two catchable balls. Be prepared to feel like an idiot if Irwin has zero catches here, but the upside is that this wager could cash on the first drive of the game.
