2022 Bermuda Championship Weather Forecast and Projections for Port Royal Golf Course
We’re teeing off for the Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Course this week, and it goes from a nice first day to an ugly tournament quickly.
As usual in my Golf weather forecasts, we’re focusing more on wind than rain. While rain can halt play if it’s heavy enough, it also helps to soften and slow the course, meaning it helps as much as it hurts. With wind there’s no helpful side, it’s all negative impact, and the impact can lead to dramatic differences in scoring. My goal is always to try and highlight the timeframe with the lightest winds, the time with the strongest winds, and to see if there’s a cumulative advantage for one wave over another. You can use then use this to your advantage making your picks on DFS sites and sportsbooks.

Bermuda Championship Weather Report & Forecast
Round 1 Weather Projection – Thursday, October 27th
Here is your one “nice” day. Thursday will start dry with near calm winds. By the afternoon winds will be between 5-10mph, with a few isolated showers and storms possible.
Round 2 Weather Projection – Friday, October 28th
It gets ugly in a hurry on Friday. Widespread showers and storms are possible all day, and winds pick up as well. Wind-wise we should be between 15-20mph sustained with stronger gusts. I think it may be slightly windier in the morning as compared to the afternoon, but I don’t see a significant difference. The bigger issue is the rain, which could throw off the timing of the entire tournament. Rain and lightning could delay play for hours, and possibly even entire days.
Round 3 Weather Projection – Saturday, October 29th
It won’t be quite as windy as what we’ll see Friday, sustained winds should be closer to 10mph through the day, but the rain and storm potential is still there, and stays with us all weekend.
Round 4 Weather Projection – Sunday, October 30th
Similar to Saturday. We’ve got a chance for showers and storms all day, with winds around 10mph.
Overall Bermuda Championship Weather Forecast
As I mentioned in the intro, when it comes to finding a usable and predictable edge for PGA, wind matters a lot more than rain. In this case I don’t see a huge edge anywhere to be found in the wind pattern. We know Friday is uglier than Thursday, but it’s somewhat uniformly ugly, so there’s not a clear way to minimize wind exposure. The greater issue for the tournament in general is the rain and storms. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a delay on any given day, and I have some concern that it’s windy enough to lose out on entire days. Stay tuned to @KevinRothWx for the latest.
