We went 5-1 yesterday to improve to 16-6-2 to begin the new month and have continued to excel on pitcher props, which has been the case since Opening Day. There is plenty of opportunity once again on the player prop market today – below are three prop leans for May 8!

MLB Player Props Today

Hunter Brown o16.5 outs recorded (-110), BetMGM

Hunter Brown let us down in his last trip to the mound, but we trust him to get our money back on Monday evening against the Los Angeles Angels. Brown was woefully inefficient against the San Francisco Giants last Tuesday, walking five batters in only 4.1 innings of work. Still, the Houston Astros entrusted him with 96 pitches and he allowed only two earned runs, suggesting that he would have had a longer leash if he was simply able to limit the free passes. Tonight, he gets a matchup against an Angels offense that ranks 20th in walk rate across the last two weeks and 21st in walk rate across the last month. Expect a bounce-back performance from Brown in this spot – take the over.

James Outman o0.5 total bases (-125), BetMGM

We trusted James Outman yesterday and he delivered for us once again, so why not run it back again to begin the new week? Outman had been hitless each of the prior two days heading into Sunday’s action against the San Diego Padres, but he delivered in a big way with a home run in extra innings for the Los Angeles Dodgers (and for us). Against right-handed pitching this year, Outman owns a .267 batting average, .951 OPS, and a 153 wRC+. Takes the over on his total bases again.

MLB DFS Pick’em

Javier Baez less than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs, PrizePicks

Tanner Bibee has only thrown 11.0 innings at the big league level in his career, but everything about the early returns suggests that he is the real deal on the mound. His minor league track record does nothing to go against that grain either. At Triple-A to begin the year, Bibee had a 1.76 ERA and a 2.58 FIP. He was dominant last season, with a 1.83 ERA and a 2.61 FIP across 73.2 innings at Double-A. Javier Baez owns a .238 batting average and a .607 OPS against right-handed pitching entering play. Do not expect any fireworks from his bat this evening.
