MLB Player Props Today
- Jack Suwinski to hit a home run
- Kyle Tucker to hit a home run
- Jose Urquidy less than 17.5 pitching outs
Jack Suwinski to hit a home run (+390), FanDuel
Last night, Jack Suwinski hit his second home run of the season – a 461-foot shot to right field. In 2022, Suwinski had the second-highest fly ball rate of any Pittsburgh hitter who had at least 200 plate appearances against right-handed pitching. Early in 2023, Suwinski has the highest fly ball rate of any Pittsburgh hitter. Among 246 batters with at least 30 plate appearances this year, Suwinski ranks 10th in fly ball rate. Tonight, the wind is forecasted to be blowing out towards right field at over 18 mph around first pitch. If Suwinski can get the ball in the air, he will have a great opportunity to get the job done here.
Kyle Tucker to hit a home run (+360), FanDuel
Kyle Tucker enters play on Tuesday evening with a 41.9% fly ball rate against right-handed pitching this season. His fly ball tendencies are a carryover from 2022, during which he had a 45.8% fly ball rate against right-handed pitching. Tonight’s starting pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, Chris Bassitt has struggled to a 4.27 FIP against left-handed hitters during his career. Bassitt has also surrendered over a home run per inning to left-handed batters in the big leagues. Many people will understandably be on Yordan Alvarez tonight for the Dinger Tuesday promotion, but Tucker is another great option in this spot.
MLB DFS Pick’em
Jose Urquidy less than 17.5 pitching outs, PrizePicks
Jose Urquidy has not been particularly sharp to begin the new campaign. His 2.35 ERA looks shiny on the surface, but his 4.30 FIP and 1.37 WHIP paint a more negative picture. Urquidy has only recorded 18 outs in a game once this year, and it was against the Pittsburgh Pirates. On Tuesday, Urquidy will have a much tougher test against the Toronto Blue Jays, which rank seventh in OPS, 13th in ISO, 15th in walk rate, and 10th in strikeout percentage against right-handed pitching to begin 2023. Expect the Blue Jays to make life difficult here, forcing manager Dusty Baker to go to the bullpen earlier than he would like to this evening.
