On Sunday evening, the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams will battle at Sofi Stadium with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. Following a regular season sweep for the 49ers, the Rams will be looking to defend home-field in the NFC Championship Game–looking for their first win against San Francisco since 2018.

As we approach kickoff, the value on the spread and the total has been reduced compared to its opening market price. Instead of forcing action on saturated markets, bettors may find more expected value on player props for this postseason affair.

Best 49ers vs. Rams Prop Bets

Jimmy Garoppolo o224.5 passing yards (-114)

PrizePicks: 210.5 yards

The first time these two teams met, Jimmy Garoppolo totaled an efficient 182 passing yards on only 19 attempts. In that Week 10 affair, the 49ers led 21-7 at the half, which led to a run-heavy game script in the second half. When these teams battled in Week 18, Garoppolo was somewhat reckless–throwing two interceptions. However, he also managed 316 passing yards in a winning effort. In two games against San Francisco during the regular season, Los Angeles permitted 3.9 yards-per-carry on the ground, but a dreadful 9.8 yards-per-attempt through the air. Garoppolo has received plenty of hate from the media in recent weeks, but he is capable of eclipsing this number against a beatable Rams secondary unit.

Matthew Stafford u282.5 passing yards (-110)

PrizePicks: 270.5 yards

The market is in love with Matthew Stafford, following two outstanding performances to begin this postseason. Against the Arizona Cardinals, Stafford posted an efficient 202 passing yards on only 17 attempts. Last weekend against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Stafford threw for 366 yards and had two touchdowns at the half before Sean McVay and the Rams offense became overly conservative in the final two quarters. Still, Stafford has struggled mightily against the 49ers this season–and this weekend will be the healthiest that San Francisco’s defense has been all season. Stafford threw for only 243 yards in Week 10, and only 238 yards in Week 18. Expect him to once again stay under this number. Take the under.

Cam Akers u62.5 rushing yards (-114)

PrizePicks: 55.5 yards

Since Week 10, the 49ers have allowed only 3.6 yards-per-carry on the ground. Bettors would be hard-pressed to find a more dominant run defense during the latter half of the season. This is also a defense that matches up extremely well with their opponent in this one. In two games against the Rams in 2021, the 49ers allowed only 3.1 yards-per-attempt on the ground. Akers certainly looked explosive against the Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card round, but he finished the game with only 55 rushing yards on 3.2 yards-per-carry. Against the Buccaneers, Akers finished with only 48 rushing yards on 2.0 yards-per-carry, including two lost fumbles. Even if Sean McVay doesn’t limit Akers’ workload on Sunday, it could be difficult for him to reach this number based on the matchup and his recent output.

Elijah Mitchell o68.5 rushing yards (-115)

PrizePicks: 66.5 yards

Elijah Mitchell is unquestionably one of the best running backs in the NFL, running behind one of the best offensive lines in the league. In Week 10, Mitchell received 27 carries for 91 rushing yards against the Rams. In Week 18, Mitchell gained 85 rushing yards on 21 attempts. Los Angeles has strong defenders up-front, but Mitchell is still more than capable of eclipsing this number in what should be a competitive game script on Sunday.
