Tonight, the Minnesota Vikings and the Chicago Bears will battle in a divisional showdown at Soldier Field. Entering play, the Vikings are a half game behind the New Orleans Saints for the last Wild Card spot in the NFC playoff picture. Chicago has suffered a disappointing campaign, winning only four of their 13 games.

In a matchup between two teams with different motivations, there has been plenty of line movement throughout the week. Those looking to place a few more wagers in the hours leading up to kickoff will see that the value on the spread and the total has been reduced compared to its opening market price. Instead of forcing action on saturated markets, bettors may find more expected value on player props for this Monday Night Football matchup.

Vikings vs Bears Player Props

Kirk Cousins o259.5 passing yards (-110)

In 2021, the Bears have allowed the highest opposing quarterback passer rating in the entire NFL at 106.6. Opposing signal callers have thrown for 24 touchdowns against only 5 interceptions against Chicago this season, completing 68.2 percent of their passes, and averaging 7.8 yards-per-attempt. Kirk Cousins has delivered volatile passing yardage totals this season with 5 games of at least 323 passing yards, but also six games with 244 passing yards or less. In this matchup, Cousins has an opportunity to blow past this prop. Take the over in this spot.

Darnell Mooney o3.5 receptions (-148)

Darnell Mooney has arguably the most favorable matchup of any player in tonight’s game. Primarily a slot receiver for Chicago, Mooney figures to see plenty of coverage from Mackensie Alexander, who Pro Football Focus has graded as the worst slot cornerback in the NFL in 2021. Mooney has seen at least seven targets in eight games this season. He also has eight games with at least five receptions. Against an inferior defender this evening, expect Mooney to have a solid performance.

Darnell Mooney Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+210)

Mooney has only three touchdowns on the season, and he has not found pay dirt since November 21 in a game against the Baltimore Ravens. Thus, do not bet the house here. However, for the aforementioned reasons, Mooney is potentially a worthwhile risk in this spot at significant plus-money odds. Mooney has an incredibly favorable matchup on Monday Night Football. Bettors should find creative ways to buy as much stock in him as possible.

Dalvin Cook Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-175)

Dalvin Cook’s backup, Alexander Mattison has been ruled out for tonight’s action, which should result in an extensive workload for Cook as Minnesota’s clear-cut number one running back. Minnesota’s last game was on Thursday Night Football in Week 14, meaning that Cook and the offensive line have had a significant amount of recovery time for this matchup. The Vikings possess a clear advantage at the line of scrimmage in this one. This is heavy chalk, but for good reason.
