Tonight, the Washington Football Team and the Philadelphia Eagles will engage in an unusual divisional battle, playing Tuesday Night Football at Lincoln Financial Field. Due to COVID-19 issues, this game has been postponed multiple days. Oddsmakers clearly anticipate the extra rest being an advantage for the Eagles, who have moved all the way to an 8.5-point favorite on the spread. Bettors who failed to grab Philadelphia earlier in the week should turn their attention to the prop market leading up to kickoff, due to the fact that the value on the spread and the total has been reduced compared to its opening market price.

Washington vs. Eagles Player Props

Jalen Hurts u189.5 passing yards (-110)

Jalen Hurts is on track to start Tuesday evening for the Philadelphia Eagles, but it is debatable as to whether that is good or bad news. Hurts has not thrown for more than 178 yards in a game since Week 7, and has only one such game since Week 4. Hurts has been effective with his legs when he has been on the field, but the results in the standings have been inconsistent, winning only five of his 12 starts. Even against a weak Washington secondary unit, Hurts is unlikely to approach this number–especially if the Eagles have a sizable lead and are able to keep the ball on the ground in this one. Take the under.

Jalen Hurts u1.5 passing touchdowns (-186)

For similar reasons mentioned above, we are also grabbing the under on Hurts’ passing touchdown prop this evening. Only twice in his last eight games has Hurts totaled two or more touchdowns through the air. Having hit the over on the prop at only a 33.3 percent rate during that stretch, we will happily take implied odds of 65.03 percent in this position–nearly a two percent edge on the book. Chalk has a bad perception for many in the betting community, but more important than the weight of the line is the value of the line. There is value here.

DeVonta Smith o49.5 receiving yards (-110)

Smith has seemingly fallen off of the map in recent weeks, totaling only 37 receiving yards combined across his last two games. Yet, game script and the opponent likely had a lot to do with deflated receiving totals in those matchups. Prior to that, Smith had posted 61 yards, 66 yards, and 116 yards in three consecutive contests. Against one of the worst secondary units in the NFL, Smith should be able to get free for at least a few receptions this evening. This is a great buy-low opportunity for bettors after a couple of weeks of struggles.

Miles Sanders – Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-105)

Miles Sanders has not scored a rushing touchdown yet this season, but we like that to change this evening when he takes on the Washington Football Team. In each of the last three weeks, Sanders has totaled at least 64 rushing yards and at least 5.0 yards-per-carry. Running behind one of the better offensive lines in football, his success is likely to continue if given ample opportunity. Though Washington was expected to have one of the most fearsome defensive fronts in the league this fall, preseason projections have not manifested on the field. Sanders has been too good recently to not find the end zone. After all, he did score six times on the ground in 2020, so it is not as if he is incapable of scoring. He ends the streak this evening.
