Big Events Breakdown: DSBC, King's Crown + Elite 100 Action

Well we missed our big events breakdown last week while traveling to the DFBC in beautiful Las Vegas, and it was a pretty poor week to miss out on with the DOCOFS wrapping up. But let’s keep our chin up and keep grinding on as we take on the biggest and baddest events across daily fantasy sports from this weekend. DraftStreet ended the weekend with just a single DSBC qualifier seat open, a $22 200-man event on Tuesday. FanDuel rolls on with their Elite 100 action each and every day. And the King’s Crown tournament continues to push forward as players battle for their shot at a share of the king’s riches at DailyJoust. Enough shenanigans, let’s get it started.

King’s Crown Qualifier #5

The King’s Crown Qualifier seat this week came down to a tight battle between three Grinders. All three players heavily relied on the Giants bats to bring them a victory, but the difference on the scoreboard was in the details. While Tshaw7 got the most out of his starter, C.C. Sabathia, he rolled the dice on Matt Wieters when he couldn’t quite afford Buster Posey. Posey had a huge night and his version of the Giants stack fell 8 points short of first. Beermakersfan also stacked a bunch of Giants with Matt Moore as his starter and Eric Chavez at 3B. Moore threw well and Chavez put up a solid 11 points but Beermakersfan also came up just short, finishing four points back. All of this brings us to our winner, Luckyretr whose Giants stack included Ryan Theriot rather than Marco Scutaro at the 2B spot, and that ended up being the difference between winning and losing. With a final score of 112, Luckyretr edged out the other Grinder competitors and will be moving on to the King’s Crown finals.

DSBC Qualifiers #38 + #39

Two DSBC Qualifiers this weekend and that means there’s ONLY ONE REMAINING. Get in on the action at DraftStreet now and join their final DSBC satellite event before the finals start. The buy-in is $22 and there is a 200-man player pool that is bound to fill quickly. As for the last two DSBC events, we had a previous qualifier steal yet another seat on Friday night and an absolute barn burner on Sunday. Friday went to RickMilitar who earned his second seat by blowing away the competition en route to an 8 point victory over second place finisher(and previous DSBC qualifier) Kamakazi. Of course the theme of the night was San Francisco stacks so 8 Giants and 2 Tigers, including the 16 points from Prince Fielder, pushed RickMilitar over the top to victory.

Sunday night’s competition defined heartbreak for Pheagles10, who had the lead for most of the day but got steamrolled at the last possible moment thanks to the 5 point save from Jason Motte on Sunday Night Baseball. Muntradamus earned his second seat to the DSBC finals as Pheagles10 had to be frustrated with the outcome. Muntradamus used a Detroit stack on his way to victory, which of course was heavily boulstered by their 5-run 10th inning comeback win! It was a pretty crazy come back as the night rounded out as well, I found myself watching the St. Louis game wondering if Motte would be coming in. Of course I was in 250th place so I had no real stake in it! Anyways, congrats to all of the qualifiers and be sure to check out the $22 final qualifier on Tuesday at DS!

There are 33 qualifiers as of August 2nd, they are listed below along with the buy-in of the tournament they won and the date of that event. As a reminder, there are just under 100 seats that will need to be qualified for meaning you still have at least 50 chances to prove that you are elite.
