Big Events Breakdown Week 11: Big Weeks From STLCards and Mirage88!

While we are getting near of the end of the qualifiers for the huge million dollar tournaments, big prizes will continue to be up for grabs for weeks to come, but for now, let’s take a look in the rearview mirror and check out the big Week 11 winners… All RotoGrinders members will have their names bolded.

With the Fanduel $10, $25, and $109 qualifiers now in the books, it came down to the FFFC Super Qualifier in Week 11, where several Grinders claimed spots to Vegas. Draftstreet’s Q’s are also coming to close, so if you still want a chance at becoming a DFS millionaire, you better move quickly. Spots at the Playboy Mansion are also running low, and from what I’ve heard, that tournament is not one you want to miss. Best of luck to everyone this week who is still chasing these qualifiers!

Fanduel FFFC Super Qualifier

Twenty seats to Vegas were given out in this tournament alone, which made it a little different because you didn’t need to beat the entire field to secure a seat. The Super Qualifier was made up of 6360 entries, which was a smaller player pool then we saw with the $10 qualifier in the past. Ibdum (aka gr8m8) had no trouble navigating the field, finishing in second thanks to hitting on the top two WR’s of the day (Megatron and Antonio Brown). He also had the week’s top quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, who was owned by only 1.7% of the field. Cb35 put together a ninth place finish by rolling out the same trio, along with the Seahawks D, Andre Johnson and Antonio Gates. CB is 181st in the overall rankings and sits a little higher in the NFL Grinder leaderboard at 142nd. Joeyengland98 followed close behind in tenth by hitting on Big Ben, Rashad Jennings, Megatron, and V-Jax. Mr. England has only been a member of the community for two months, but he’s quickly making a name for himself. Maxdalury needed a Gronk TD on Monday night to take down his FFFC entry, and he got it. The Big Ben to Brown combination also helped him out quite a bit. Maxdalury is our 9th overall ranked player and is currently 19th on the NFL Grinder leaderboard. The #2 NFL Grinder killab2482 finished just a spot behind in 16th. His RB combination of Marshawn and McCoy put him in a great spot, and his WR duo of Antonio Brown and V-Jax also worked out pretty well. In total, we saw five members earn their shot at a million dollars, and consuming a quarter of the FFFC seats awarded this week is a pretty nice accomplishment.

Fanduel 300K Sunday Bomb

Sadly, not a single grinder in the top 10. The Bomb is a huge tournament with over 13,000 entries, so let’s just move on.

Draftstreet $420 DFFC Qualifier

I’m very happy to see stlcardinals84 punch his ticket to Vegas, and he had a legitimate shot at sweeping all three DS qualifiers. He was part of the 3% that rolled out Ben Roethlisberger, and also struck gold with his cheap TE play (Garrett Graham, 1% owned). STL is in 5th place in both our TPOY and overall rankings, and he’s 17th on the NFL Grinder leaderboard. Metsfan828 finished third thanks to some big games from all four RB’s he played. It didn’t get much better at the position this week then McCoy, Marshawn, Forte and Rashad Jennings. Metsfan is 12th in the overall rankings and sits one spot lower in the TPOY rankings. Tipandpick was just a few points behind in fourth, and he would have had a shot at 1st place had his Brees-to-Stills combo been a little more productive. He’s 68th on the NFL Grinder leaderboard and 72nd in the TPOY rankings. TwoGun found some great value with E.J. Manuel, Marquise Goodwin and T.J. Graham, which was good enough for a 7th place finish. He deserves some props for rolling out that trio and getting solid production from each of them. TwoGun is 15th on the NFL Grinder leaderboard and 40th in the overall rankings. No surprise to see the next guy near the top of scoreboards… Condia (our top overall Grinder) finished eighth, thanks to a big game from Shady McCoy and a strong MNF performance from Cam Newton.

Draftstreet $109 DFFC Qualifier

Bluestem89 barely edged out STL for to secure his spot in the DFFC. He needed every last point from Gronk on MNF, and he got just enough to push his entry to the top. Bluestem is ranked 32nd in both our overall and NFL Grinder leaderboards. STL had to settle for second place in this one, and I’m sure he’s not complaining. Metsfan828 finished fourth, followed by mirage88 who has been flying up the rankings over the past few weeks. He is now up to 24th in the NFL Grinder leaderboard and 42nd in the TPOY rankings. Paulpierce3434 (312th in the overall rankings) finished seventh, and was the final RG member to place in the top-ten.

Draftstreet $22 DFFC Qualifier

Bluestem89 takes down his second DFFC seat of the weekend, and stlcardinals84 once again finishes just a few points behind, and I’m sure both of these guys had some serious sweats going on during MNF. Pabloplyr was part of the 5% that was smart enough to roll with Bobby Rainey, the week’s top scorer. How anyone saw that one coming, I can only guess. He also rolled out Big Ben, so he clearly had a good feel for Week 11.

StarStreet $500 PFFC Qualifier

Seabie123 put together a second place finish in the $500 PFFC Q, and could have topped the leaderboard had it not been for a dud from Brandon Marshall. He hit big on Shady and V-Jax, which at least doubled his money in this one. Seabie is 194th on the NFL Grinder leaderboard. McJester followed behind in third, and also had 7th and 10th place finishes. He’s had a big year during this NFL season (including a monster week on FD earlier this year), and is currently 4th in the TPOY rankings. KillaB (aka hoochy_24_82) finished 4th, and he’s no rookie either, currently sitting in 2nd on both the Monthly and NFL Grinder leaderboards. Bluestem89 carried his success over from DS, finishing fifth, followed by radthad954, who was part of the 4% of the field that benefited from Ray Rice big game. The eighth place finisher, Shanksalot, was led by his Big Ben-Antonio Brown combination. Shanks is 11th in the TPOY rankings.

StarStreet $109 PFFC Qualifier

BirdWings entry would have actually won the $500 StarStreet Q, but it was only good for second place in the $109. He hit big on V-Jax, Shady McCoy, Cam Newton and Garrett Graham, and his second place finish buys him a few more shots at this one in Week 12. BirdWings is our 3rd overall ranked Grinder and he’s 4th on the NFL Grinder leaderboard. Our own RotoGrindersCal had two entries inside the top 5, and he also had the V-Jax/Shady combination. Cal is 19th in the TPOY rankings and 66th in the overall rankings. McJester and shanksalot once again put together top ten performances, followed by Westy in 8th place. Westy is our 16th ranked NFL Grinder and is 43rd on the Monthly leaderboard. No Big Events Breakdown is complete without an appearance from headchopper (6th in TPOY, 18th overall), who rang in at ninth place this week.

DraftKings Sunday 200 Grand ($200K Guaranteed)

Mirage88 continues his big week by taking down the Sunday 200K! Only 2.7% of this field played Big Ben, so his mini-Steelers stack put him in a nice spot. Megatron also wasn’t a popular play (5.3%), so you can see why he outscored 2nd place by more than 23 points. Stlcardinals84 just happened to be that second place finisher, continuing his success on Draftstreet with a cool 12.5K and an FMGF entry. Nubbs519 (73rd in TPOY rankings) finished a few points behind in third, and RG writer Varncass (107th in the overall rankings) rounds out the top five. TwoGun registered in both sixth and seventh place, followed by PCfriarsfan in eighth. PC is 38th in the TPOY rankings and 206th on the NFL Grinder leaderboard.

DraftDay’s Bracket Blitz Heating UP

The $11 DraftDay Bracket Blitz is down to the final 32, and you know the RG community has it’s hand in the action. STLCardinals, Westy, Kingspoint11, o0lit3, and tipandpick are just a few of the RG competitors who are still fighting for spots in the Sweet 16. At this point in the tournament, any entry that is remaining has already won $200, but a win this week will guarantee each remaining entry at least 322.50.
