Big Events Breakdown Week 6: Chop and Naap Have Huge Weeks!
Another week of million dollar qualifiers is in the books and, as usual, there were several RotoGrinders members who showed up at the top of leaderboards across the industry. I’m sure you’re all aware by now, but Fanduel, Draftstreet and DraftKings are giving away $1,000,000 to the winner’s of their respective football championships, and another round of qualifiers kick off this Sunday. StarStreet is also providing their users with quite a treat, sending their finalists to the Playboy Mansion to compete for $250,000. Big prizes will continue to be up for grabs for weeks to come, but let’s take a look in the rearview mirror and review the big Week 6 winners… All RotoGrinders members will have their names bolded.

It’s pretty fitting that headchopper is the first grinder to receive recognition. He was near the top of scoreboards all across the industry this weekend and was less than 5 points away from an FFFC seat in this one. Chop is 17th in our overall rankings, 9th in the TPOY rankings and 25th on the NFL Grinder leaderboard, so his success comes with no surprise. The same can be said for naapstermaan, who is well known for having multiple entries in every tournament any of us have ever played in….ever. Naap holds top honors in our TPOY rankings in addition to being #26 in the overall rankings. CSURAM88 finishes a string of three straight top #30 grinders, as he himself is 10th in our overall rankings as well as 3rd on the Monthly leaderboard.

Chop was the only grinder to finish inside the top ten in this one. A #9 finish won’t get you an FFFC seat but it will put $200 back in your pocket. This is certainly not the last time you will be seeing his name.

After being shut out of the top ten last week, RG members make up 40% of it this week. Stewburtx8 was another Keenan Allen touchdown away from a chance to compete for $1,000,000. If the Colts could have actually produced some offense and kept the Chargers going, Allen’s day could have been even better. Stewburt is 221st in our overall rankings. Another appearance for headchopper, as he takes down both 6th and 8th place in the $10 Q. Westy (92nd in overall rankings, 23rd on NFL Grinder leaderboard, 54th on Monthly leaderboard) finished ninth in this one.

Chop takes down third and seventh place, and was less than a point away from three top ten finishes. The top ranked grinder (both overall and monthly) in all the land, Condia, finished fourth, followed by mbomb44, who just happens to be the 2nd overall grinder on our leaderboard. Jae686 (58th on NFL Grinder leaderboard) finds himself in another top ten with an 8th place finish. Dinkpiece (8th in overall rankings, 10th in TPOY rankings, 6th on NFL Grinder leaderboard) finished 9th, while mikemc (250th on overall rankings) rounds out the top ten.

This one may have been the toughest to swallow for Chop. He looked to be in a good spot going into Monday night, but Keenan Allen went off for 9-107-1 and dethroned Chop from the top spot. But let’s be honest, $3000 isn’t a bad consolation prize. Chop had another entry in this one which finished fifth, but could have been even better had Andrew Luck actually showed up to play. Metsfan828 came in seventh place, and he sits in 11th in our overall rankings, 20th in the TPOY rankings, and 22nd on the NFL Grinder leaderboard. Nsane (223rd on NFL Grinder leaderboard) finished 8th, followed by shanksalot (29th in TPOY rankings, 185th on overall leaderboard) in 9th, and db730 (38th in overall rankings, 75th in TPOY rankings, 44th on Monthly leaderboard) registers in 10th.

Leonem paid a combined 15k for his QB’s (Foles and Thad Lewis) and got over 53 points out of them… not a bad way to start your Sunday. He finished third in this one, and is currently holding down the #55 spot in our overall rankings as well as #28 in the TPOY rankings. Lootmeister finished sixth, and he sits in 442nd in our overall rankings. Chop put together another top ten entry with a 7th place finish, followed by RussARMNY (82nd in TPOY rankings) in 8th place.

All but one of the top ten was an RG member… Naapstermaan takes home the PFFC seat, followed by radthad954 (130th in overall rankings, 39th in TPOY rankings) in third, tommyg1979 (138th in TPOY rankings, 385 in overall rankings) in fourth, and Mike5754 (80th in TPOY rankings, 198th in overall rankings) rounds out the top five. Whiskeytavon4, our 80th overall grinder, put together a sixth place finish, followed by last week’s PFFC qualifier winner PrimeTime420. Our very own Al_Smizzle (6th in TPOY rankings, 31st in overall rankings) finished 8th, followed by shanksalot in 9th and hoochy_24_82 (aka killab2482, 2nd on NFL Grinder leaderboard) in 10th place.

Headchopper finally strikes gold after having a few qualifier seats ripped out from under him with big performances from Monday night players (this week and last). This guy is in the top ten of these qualifiers pretty much every week, which is certainly much harder than he has been making it look. The combination of Knowshon Moreno, Vernon Davis and Vincent Jackson put him well out in front in this one. Hatorade put together a very respectable third place finish, and he trying to work his way up the TPOY rankings, currently holding down the #76 spot. BirdWings (4th in both our overall rankings and the NFL Grinder leaderboard) makes his weekly appearance in the top ten with a 4th place finish, followed by RotoGrindersCal (15th in TPOY rankings, 60th in overall rankings) with both a 5th place and 8th place entry. Stevietpfl, currently in 72nd in the TPOY rankings, came away with a 6th place finish, followed by naapstermaan in 9th place and JohnnyDakota (60th in TPOY rankings) in 10th.

Chop almost takes down another qualifier…the Vernon Davis-Vincent Jackson combination got him very far this weekend. His lineups across the various sites looked relatively different, but guys like Davis, V.Jackson, Moreno and Justin Blackmon were in most of his lineups. After taking down an FOC seat last weekend, Mirage88 puts together another strong lineup, good for a 4th place finish. Ehafner (#3 on our overall leaderboard) makes another top ten appearance, followed by Makisupa to round out the RG members in this one.

A big congratulations to Hatorade (aka Porn Stache) for taking down not only $25,000, but also a nice FMGF entry to boot. Vincent Jackson, Keenan Allen and Knowshon Moreno treated him very well this weekend. CSURAM88 takes home a combined $11,250 and an FMGF entry with his 3rd and 8th place finishes in this one. Mikaryke put together a 9th place finish and is currently ranked 343rd in our TPOY rankings.
